lol...just NO he is NOT faster than Joshua and is as stiff as a surf board ready to fall with every missed TELEGRAPHED punch...please just stop !! Ali was getting tagged by the long jab,i guess Ali plays ALOT ? Terrell was like 200 pounds basically in his early years,he was certainly NOT faster or EFFECTIVE like Joshua thats a JOKE i hope ?

how many times did Ali get HIT by slow short chuvalo ? I noticed you dodged that question? Isn't Alis defense and footwork great he should NEVER be hit so often and by such a EASIER opponent to fight? :icon_pc:

Another part you ducked like a ******. You're so eager to talk about fighters' weakest moments, yet you've failed to mention Joshua being out on his feet(even if It was for seconds) against a fat slob or him getting his nose busted up by a statue.

    Ali fought Chuvalo in 1972.

In 1972 Ali also fought Jerry Quarry , Floyd Patterson , Bob Foster , Alvin Lewis and Mac Foster. SIX fights in one year and two of them are on the ATG list.

Yes , he is going to take a few shots fighting that frequently and fighting against one of the most fiercest iron chinned warriors that ever lived. He still dominated Chuvalo.

All and all Ali has had over 30 fights against guys on the ATG list and only lost 3-4. How many ATGs has AJ beaten?

Whats his best win? Charles Martin.

Jerry Qurray amongst a host of other guys Ali beat would defeat Martin.

All you prove when you post is that you are a moron who dksab.

Listen foolish one we are comparing PRIME Ali vs Joshua arent we not? Remember you along with the other LESSER knowledegables that think the one closer to 205 body weight beats Joshua,so that's the version im using bc you will cry and say Ali was not in his prime in the 70's ....whats hilarious is NO ONE here can stick to ONE era version and TRY and pick certain fights to justify him winning, but there isnt one! :icon_popcorn:

Geez, 32 pages on this? Let me end the thread for everyone. If you believe that hw boxing has progressed, in the same way that all sports with tangible records have progressed, then AJ has proven himself to be at a high enough level that he would likely beat Ali.

If you believe boxing doesn't progress, or at least not much, then AJ has not shown the kind of dominance yet that would allow him to be chosen over Ali.

Oh, I didn't realize you wanted me to simplfy it for your thick head. See, using lateral movement in boxing is to take small steps to your left or right, small steps so you'd still be close enough to your opponent to let your punches go, which was something Ali was great at. There was literally a rythm with his movement and his jab. He'd shoot the jab while stepping on to his left and switch his direction so quick that he'd leave his opponent completely baffled. He was still able to sit on his punches while he was on his toes and on movement, which is almost the textbook version of a great footwork.

Can you compromise with this, you spastic? Ir am I still wasting my time with a ******?

Ali was not great at taking small steps bc he RELIED on mostly being OUT of range moving out of punching distance for himself,he jumped back into punching position UNLESS his LESS skilled opponents followed him unintelligently walking into punches....

This was ALREADY explained to you,and that Lateral movement is not just simply moving away ...it is moving away from center line. Ali STAYED in center line in one spot and mostly bobbed back and forth leaning backwards or side to side....this ISNT lateral movement and neither is full circle moving which he mainly did to his left.

    you SIMPLETON!:detenido:

Exactly, well said. Molina/Breazeale/Whyte aren't a great deal better either.

I can't see how people can pick AJ when he hasn't even beat a legit top 5 fighter, even top 10 is a bit controversial. I think AJ has lots of potential, but potential is exactly that: it needs to be proven.

Let AJ dominate the HW division for a while and cement his legacy, and then we can talk again ...

Joshua dominating THIS ERA wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with beating up a 200/210 pounder in another ERA!

How can ANYONE pick Ali IF they actually read my posts on here is a better question!

if you're a betting man, you've learned betting on heart leads you to more wrong conclusions that isnt good for your pockets.. So before going with your favorite, the guy you're emotionally rooting for ( LIKE EVERYONE HERE HAS ) you have to actually do some thoughtful analysis and thinking skills and take away outcomes which actually have the least likelihood of coming true and add the ones that do.

This should be common sense as to why and how this match plays out, even if you THINK for whatever bizarre reason you cant see Joshua winning here, based on ATG' lables of other era fighters who wouldnt even be ranked today let alone be a threat to Joshua ,well ...lol

NO smart bettor would REMOTLEY take Ali in this one!
