Cossell was not biased towards Ali you dumfuk. He was always critical of him. Ali didn't win the first few rounds against Mildenburger , there's a difference between didn't and couldn't. In a 15 round fight you are not going to go all out from the opening bell and he often gave up the opening rounds in most of his fights. Joshua may win the first and second round too. Then it goes down hill for him like it did with Mildenburger. And Ali would make Vitali look like a journeyman. If Kingpin Johnson can make him look unskilled and robotic and Byrd clowns him to a stool retirement , then Ali makes him look like an utter buffoon.
Let's look at some of these dominant monsters Ali had to beat on his first title reign. Floyd Patterson why was Ali fighting such a washed up opponent, and why did it take 12 rounds for Ali to get rid of 196 pound light punching midget. George Chuvalo 34-11 losses, also coming off a loss to a cruiserweight, and had lost 2 of his last 3 fights. Henry Cooper Ali wants to rematch a oppoent he has a 20 pound weight advantage and 8 year age advantage over. Brian London 35-11 losses bum and this is a world championship fight lol, what a weak era. Karl Midenberger with a weak 30% KO rate who got his title shot by beating Ivan Prebeg who had a weak record of 13-9. Yes that is all you have to do to get a title shot in this weak era, just beat a complete bum. Cleveland Williams 9 years older than Ali. A shadow of himself, could not train for a year, because of a gunshot wound, he had 7 feet of his intestines removed and part of his kidneys leaving him limping against Ali in the ring, literally a handicapped oppoent. Zora Folly gets his title shot by beating three bums Floyd Joyner 22-11 losses, Jefferson Davis 28-10 losses, and Henry Clark 8-2 losses. Yes Ali looked great in the 60s, because the era was so weak.
This makes little sense and as many other posts on here ..its WRONG. Foreman didn't tire chasing Ali he tired bc of wasting punches ( many missed) and that's what tired him . Ali of the 1960's would have not been as strong to keep Foreman at bay and Ali did not learn the hold behind the neck cup technique ( illegal) while grabbing the other arm to nutralize opponents attempts to hit him close. The younger 60's Ali would not have beat foreman ,i believe the Cooper fight PROVES this. Only Alis adaptability along with his 217 frame would have been able to do that coupled with being much more mature and not reliant soley on footwork, which would have been cut off by foreman anyway.
I did you THINK Foreman would tire CHASING the 'PRIME" Ali ...i CLEARED that up for you! Your welcome!
He lost to Byrd and lost 50% of the Hide fight before Hide seemed to quit. Size?? Does that mean Ali would lose to Mariuz Wach because of the size factor? Frazier and Foreman were harder fights for Ali. Vitali would be a walk in the park. Vitali simply cannot hit moving targets.
What I said was that Foreman gassed against an old Ali that hung on the ropes and that a prime Ali would not have to resort to the "rope a dope" tactic. If Foreman gassed beating on a stationary Ali on the ropes, he would have had a heart attack swinging and missing against a prime Ali with his movement. As they say, "Nice try."
Joe Frazier NEVER knocked ANY SHW out worth while other than the TKO of OVERWEIGHT diabetic Buster Mathis who he STRUGGLED to do it to. You on the other hand ACT like Ali was unbeatable despite the NUMEROUS posts that would go against it. There is simply no comparison to how EASY Joshua would hit ali compared to how the far smaller Frazier would......and DID
Lol won by default he was injured Vitali was outboxing him, fact. Vitali was outboxing Hide so badly he KO'ed him in only 2 rounds, fact. You can't answer the question because Ali never faces anybody remotely like Vitali.
And as i stated Foreman would STILL cut the ring off and the LESS stronger VERSION of Ali would get knocked out either against the ropes or TRYING to stay center ring ...pick one.
