Khan came to win, and did win, nearly had Maidana out of there in the first. Round Ten Khan was hurt bad, and had the ref stopped it nobody could really complain. He was out on his feet and desperately trying to stay in the fight, that's not the same as fighting in survival mode.

Fighting in survival mode is fighting negatively to avoid being KO'd. Hopkins against Kovalev after the knockdown is a good example of this.
