You don't go 11 rounds for the first time and get a Klitchko knockout and have stamina problems not to mention weighing the heaviest and stamina comes with actual in ring experience . I can't believe ppl haven't figured this out yet not to mention he just went 10 rounds......
Povetkin will surprise a lot of fans if they fight..................win, lose or draw, it will be a war, Povetkin knows how to box......................he is not just a slugger, but he can punch and Joshua's chin is suspect, difficult to pick, Joshua is bigger, but Povetkin won the gold as a super heavyweight, so he is used to fighting the best.........and biggest.............he has a chance.............. he would beat Parker and knock Wilder out for sure, why do you think he was framed? Povetkin was cleared by VADA, but WBC had to protect their Haymon fight..............
I think that Povetkin has a good chance if AJ underestimates Povetkin, and he'll has a bad training camp, because AJ seems to still have a problem with stamina.
If Joshua messes about in camp and Povetkin comes in ready to go, I have no problem in favouring Sasha. Just watched bits of the Hammer fight again. Hammer was pretty negative, it looks like he was really just fighting to survive or to win with one big counter. Not so easy to KO or look good against a guy that doesn't open up. Maybe Pov isn't as shot as I thought he was.
Povetkin is 38 and he looks it. Age has slowed him and although he is a much better boxer many here give him credit for, an AJ fight would be beyond him at this stage. He deserves the pay day having been shamelessly ducked by that American basketball player. But I rank the current version of Povetkin below AJ and Parker at number 3. I think AJ stops him out around rounds 7-8.
Even though I am picking Joshua to stop him it will be interesting to see what a fighter with a consistent body attack will do against Joshua. While Joshua can likely go 12 rounds from what we've seen, his tendency to gas at some point in fights could be something Povetkin could take advantage of with his body attack. Nobody so far has worked Joshua to the body consistently. It may limit his work rate or increase the likelihood of him gassing at some point giving Povetkin an opportunity to take him out. This on paper isn't an easy fight for AJ even though he is the favourite.
He does look a little slower, but I still think he can give AJ a lot of problems. He's not as sharp as he was in the Takam days but there's enough there to ask questions. But then I wonder if has kinda cruised the last two fights purely because he was so much better than the opp
Unlike Wlad, Povetkin doesn't have a glass jaw and an idiot brother in his corner and unlike Joshua, Povetkin doesn't have hamster lungs. Povetkin by late stoppage.
honestly, I want to see this fight happen before Povetkin gets too washed up. Cuz I like to see AJ get tested vs someone like Povetkin and see how he responds to his style. I'm very curious.
Joshua doesn't have the best chin or later round stamina. Povektin can get to him late, Joshua is not fighting Takam! Povetkin is past his best, but he's still very good with a top chin, plenty of heart, and decent hand speed.
