We saw that barely walking, slow Povetking how he was winning rounds against Joshua, every time he was getting inside Joshua was in panic mode.Povetkin's style is a nightmare for glass jaw fighters. The answer is obviuos - Prime Povetking by knockout Btw, i believe Usyk took something from that fight, especially his head and upper body movement reminded me of that of Povetking against Joshua.
Old Povetkin was up 4-2 on my scorecard until he got hurt but refused to take a knee. The Povetkin who went on a rampage against Charr, Takam, Perez, ... would destroy AJ most likely.
Yeah i had it the same scorecards. And i also think prime Sasha beat AJ. But the is nothing wrong with AJ chin.
Tougher fight for AJ, I'd say prime for prime it's closer to a 50/50 fight. But against the deciding factor maybe Joshua's power. Povetkin landed clean and hurt Joshua but couldn't hurt him like Joshua hurt Povetkin once Joshua landed a clean shot. So for Povetkin to win he needs to break AJ down but AJ only needs to land a few good clean shots and he could have Povetkin out of there. So I'm favouring Joshua.
Takam isn't a top 5 Povetkin win as I showed the other day. Takam never beat anybody good. All he ever did was win a couple of rounds off of contenders. Chagaev, Whyte, Byrd, Marco Huck, Eddie Chambers>>>Takam
Povetkin was beating him before he tired out first. Anyone who thins Ruiz caught AJ with a lucky punch really needs to watch the AJ/Povetkin fight. He was getting caught with the same sort of shots. And Povetkin is going to be on many lists of "best fighters to never win a title."
Povetkin was nearly 40 and had lost some punch resistance most likely. Look what he did still. A prime Povetkin is significantly faster which means he lands more and is harder to hit. Good chance of Povetkin KO and also a decision might happen if AJ goes into survival and gets gun-shy and Povetkin is happy to win rounds. AJ always has a puncher's chance, so it's not impossible he wins, but look how much damage Povetkin took from Wlad back in the day, badly hurt at least twice in that fight and kept coming. There's no shame losing to prime Povetkin, even when you have a massive physical size advantage. But there is massive shame losing to Andy Ruiz then running from him in the rematch.
Take a close look at the names he went on a rampage against...B level heavyweights. Povetkin was a very good fighter and could possibly beat AJ but since initially getting overhyped everyone thinks Joshua loses to any good fighter all of a sudden. He accomplished way more than Povetkin ever did.
