Ruiz hasn´t been the same since the Joshua KO in 2019. He doesn´t train regularly, he has been through multiple injuries and surgeries and he has domestic issues.
Ortiz actually trains all the time, at least he did so until recently. One man takes his craft seriously, the other not. It´s why Ortiz has been able to keep up with the division despite his age.

You could make that argument. Povetkin was deteriorated by then.

Hmmm...maybe. Peak Joshua was 2017-2018. Usyk got to him 3 years too late, as he'd already been ruined by Ruiz. Peak Fury was 2015. And again, Usyk got to him way too late, and already ruined by Ngannou, plus years of abusing his body. And let's face it, as I understand your argument, with neither Fury or Joshua having wins over any great or elite level fighters the right side of 35, how do we judge Usyk in his 7th fight against worn out shite

For the record I too rate Usyk as an ATG, but I don't think Fury and Joshua are quite as bad as you are making out.

Is this another case of fighters mysteriously "ducking" the money fighter with the shaky chin? Wow, it really does happen a lot.

Fighters who want to make big money who are good at boxing really turn down a LOT of fights for HUGE MONEY against this AJ guy who they have a skill advantage over. Curious.

Glad all those old men stepped up to fight Joshua, those brave fighters.

That's a 2019 article. Ortiz was signed on to fight Widler, got paid handsomely for it, and, by the good graces of PBC, received several other seven figure paydays even though Wilder won.

Eddie was also throwing around names like Chisora, Bryan, and Kabayel to step in for Miller. Ruiz was the only one to receive a serious contract offer.

Ortiz got more out of PBC than Hearn could offer in 2019.

The desperate Joshua fans will surely have a story they tell themselves about Zhang ducking Joshua too. When will the ducking end! These power punching, skilled, unknown heavyweights shudder at the thought of career high paydays against a fragile HW!

“I think I jumped the gun when I called it a low ball offer.

“It is our promoter that is low balling him. The one that financially backed us from day one.

“He was trying to get money that is not far off where they were.

Direct quote from Ortiz manager. Strange that he’s negotiating fights when according to you he’s “signed to fight wilder”
