    Poor Gabriel Campillo. First he gets battered by Kovalev, then two years down the line is hammered into oblivion by Beterbiev. What a way to earn a living. :confused::eek:

    This is real interesting. I love science-based stuff like this.

    Yea ive been into shoot fighting( form of pankration) awhile now since the early 90's.It was actually the first martial art i studied.The first MMA LIKE event i saw was in the late 80's before UFC and i said that would be a new type of fighting in the near future and ppl laughed at me ...now we have MMA.

    lol one of America's top amateur LHWs Christopher Downs had to fight both of them within the space of a week, or five days. He fought them in a US vs Russia duel.

    2008-02-29 178 Sergey Kovalev 178 Novosibirsk RUS L by pts. 24:6 4-2
    2008-02-24 178 Artur Beterbiyev 178 Magnitogorsk RUS L by pts. 12:9 4-2

    And don't forget that in Campillo's fight prior to getting Krushed by Kov he was robbed royally of his IBF LHW world title when he fought Tavoris Cloud over in the US. And yes the ref and all 3 judges were from the US too.

    Many feel he was also robbed of winning the WBA strap when he fought Shumenov a couple of years before that too. So you can make a strong argument that Campillo was actually the real IBF and WBA unified champ when Kovalev fought him.
