The problem with the last thread was there was no poll, so let's see what this forums actual options on this really are.

    Here are the facts.

Joshua is clearly the faster puncher of the two.

Joshua punches harder 100% KO rate against real super heavyweight, all 220-256 pounds.

Liston had a measly 68% KO rate when he was fighting at the top level, and that was against mostly cruiserweights and very small heavyweights.

Power is not debatable Joshua is factually the far harder puncher.

Joshua showed heart coming back from a KD and beating Wladimir in the 11th round.

Liston showed lack of heart when the going got tough, and quit against one of the most light punching heavyweight champions of all time, twice.

Joshua cuts off the ring better, pins down his oppoent and overwhelms his oppoents with power punches. Liston failed to do this with small 192 pound cruiserweights with 24-14 records like Bert Whitehurst.

Joshua showed above average chin eating massive punches from a 240 pound heavyweight with the reputation of being one of the biggest punchers of all time.

Liston was KO'ed by 199 pound cruiserweight with a pathetic 51% KO rate in Leotis Martin, clearly Joshua can take anything Liston can hand out, if he even somehow manages to land anything clean on Joshua.

Liston's best win is against a 189 pound ex light heavyweight Floys Patterson.

Joshua's best win is against a Olympic gold medal winner, who dominated the division for 10 years.

Liston is inferior to Joshua every single way you look at it. Joshua wins a one sided beat down and flattens Liston in a few rounds max. Liston does not have the chin, heart to stick around with Joshua long.

    Use your common sense.

    Who wins?

Liston is overrated...he was the champion just before Ali came. Was no long term champion....got the belt off a scrawny glass jawed Floyd Patterson...who was a light heavyweight in today's terms.

Anthony Joshua is far superior to Sonny Liston.

5 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier, more punching power, better skills, more explosive, faster hands and a
    better chin.

Anthony Joshua would probably win by KO in a one sided brutal beatdown within 3 rounds.

No one can deal with modern super-HWs except Iron Mike.

Joshua has the better skill set, but still could not deal with the great Tyson Fury.

Liston does not have the punching power of Wlady, so that would never happen. Liston does not have the heart, or chin to stick around with Joshua long, as Liston has already shown during his career. Quiting against Ali twice, and getting stopped by a weak punching 199 pound cruiserweight.

Joshua is clearly the faster puncher of the two.

    No.

Joshua punches harder 100% KO rate against real super heavyweight, all 220-256 pounds.

His best win is life and death with 41 yr old WK who hasn't been in the ring for 1.5 years. Everyone else was ****.

Liston had a measly 68% KO rate when he was fighting at the top level, and that was against mostly cruiserweights and very small heavyweights.

Joshua hasn't fought anybody as good as the guys Liston fought except WK.

Power is not debatable Joshua is factually the far harder puncher.

Both have power to knock 99% out with one punch. It is negligible.

Joshua showed heart coming back from a KD and beating Wladimir in the 11th round.

He shouldn't have been knocked down by the 41 yr old in the first place. Liston gets him down and he stays down.

Liston showed lack of heart when the going got tough, and quit against one of the most light punching heavyweight champions of all time, twice.

You are unable to see past two things: power and size. Ali is one of the 3 greatest heavyweights of all time.

Joshua cuts off the ring better, pins down his oppoent and overwhelms his oppoents with power punches. Liston failed to do this with small 192 pound cruiserweights with 24-14 records like Bert Whitehurst.

No he doesn't. His foot speed is ****. He hasn't done this once agaisnt a top level heavyweight except for WK who gassed. Liston wouldn't. Liston knocked one of the best sub 200 lbrs (Patterson) out twice in the first rd. Whatever he did against "Bert Whitehurst" doesn't matter. Joshua got knocked out in sparring by a 200 lbr why don't you talk about that?

Joshua showed above average chin eating massive punches from a 240 pound heavyweight with the reputation of being one of the biggest punchers of all time.

He got knocked on his ass from the first hard punch that landed. He "ate" nothing.

Liston was KO'ed by 199 pound cruiserweight with a pathetic 51% KO rate in Leotis Martin, clearly Joshua can take anything Liston can hand out, if he even somehow manages to land anything clean on Joshua.

    Ever heard of a prime?

Liston's best win is against a 189 pound ex light heavyweight Floys Patterson.

    Yeah that's accurate.

Joshua's best win is against a Olympic gold medal winner, who dominated the division for 10 years.

And hadn't been in the ring for 1.5 and was 41 years old. You must think pretty highly of Marciano's knockout of Joe Louis.

Liston is inferior to Joshua every single way you look at it. Joshua wins a one sided beat down and flattens Liston in a few rounds max. Liston does not have the chin, heart to stick around with Joshua long.

Now you're just attempting to shove your opinion down people's throats.

The difference is I backed up my argument with facts, that you failed there to disprove. You can't disprove facts with opinions I'm afraid. Come back when you have half an argument, until then you don't.

What proof do you have that Joshua punches harder than Liston? Did you do an experiment where you measured both of their punching power on a machine? Did they fight common opponents who said one hits harder than the other?

Do you disagree that his best win is against WK? If so who is his best win?

Showing heart is an opinion. What was he supposed to do, stay down? In boxing if you go down you are supposed to try and get up. It doesn't take any special ability to do that.

He quit once against Ali because of a shoulder injury. It is widely rumored that Liston was forced to take a dive in the second Ali fight. I'm not making the argument that Liston had a ton of heart and frankly idgaf who has the most heart here because neither of them showed any crazy amount of heart.

It is FACT that he got knocked on his ass. Do you disagree?

It is FACT that Liston was past prime against Leotis Martin. Do you disagree?

It is FACT that WK was 41 yrs old and hadn't been in the ring for 1.5 years. Do you disagree?

Liston being inferior is an OPINION. Did you forget Liston has the longer reach?

    You're fake news.
