So is saying Liston is faster and more powerful. That's very easily disproved by simply watching them fight and using a bit of common sense.

That's what I'm basing it on. Watch the full fights and not the highlights. Joshua ain't fast lol. I never said that Liston punches harder. Now you're lying.

I apologise if you never said that, but you did seem to dispute that Joshua hit harder. I think it's fairly evident he's the harder puncher.

Re: speed, there is no instance in any of his fight where Liston displays faster hands than Joshua. If there is, then you're welcome to point it out to me. In every fight I've seen of his he's shown very lumbering below average handspeed, as well as quite a bit of telegraphing/winding back. He has similar speed and punching style to Foreman and Maskaev IMO. Joshua's hardly a speed demon himself, but he's a good bit more explosive.

If Joshua gets knocked out in one of his next few fights a lot of these comparisons will look silly

I think they both hit hard enough to knock each other out. Neither one is particularly fast. I simply think that speed won't play a factor. They both look average/below average in the handspeed department and when this happens usually the lighter fighter is faster but like I said it won't make a difference. Liston is nowhere near a speed demon and I don't think he relied on speed either.

    Joshua:

-pros: taller, heavier, possibly more power, sick uppercut, good heart

-cons: lacks foot work, stamina is still a big question mark, jab is ok but not great, needs to lose a little bit of that bulk to work on head movement, speed, flexibility, etc.

    Sonny:

-pros: pulverizing ATG jab, cracking hook and uppercut, body shots, wider punch arsenal, better killer instinct and finisher, better stamina, reach and experiencd avantage

    -Cons: shorter, questionable heart, weight

If joshua doesnt get his big muscle bound head out the way and stands right in front of sonny he'll eat jabs. Although sonny is shorter he actally has the reach advantage and landed his jab no problem on the taller wepner and williams. Joshuas power is scary though, so as long as he doesnt blow his load trying to get sonny out of there he could win within 5-7 rounds. Otherwise, sonny will make him pay for lacking in defense and stamina.

Joshua still has a lot to prove but he could win this one 6/10 as long as he doesnt fight stupid and is in shape.

If you think about it, Joshua had all the better attributes, power, speed, footwork, combination punching, finishing, but Liston probably had the more knowledge and expierience whatever you wanna call it and be able too capitalize on Joshua's weaknesses and whatever is happening in the fight, he probably understood the game more, but I think if Joshua fought like he did in the second Ruiz fight, he'd win by late stoppage or points

You can't compare fighters who fought half a century apart. If Joshua lived in the 50's, he wouldn't have the body he has now. He'd be a proper humanbeing with some extra muscles, not the medically enhanced bio-robot he is now; consequently he'd have absolutely no chance against Liston. As a matter of fact, I don't think he'd end up being a professional fighter either.

If Ruiz can destroy AJ, Liston is more than capable of doing the same thing. Also, he would not have to worry about getting in close, since Liston had the longer reach. I feel Liston would give AJ all kinds of hell. Not an easy night for Joshua.

Damn... Good old James Smith! I remember he was %100 convinced that Joshua would retire undefeated with %100 KO ratio.

Liston jabs Joshua to death. Seriously, is this a joke?

Good Lord, how Liston isn't an overwhelming favourite is beyond me.

If Joshua boxes like he did against Parker and Ruiz 2, he can coast to victory.
