When you're a King fighter a rating can be easily manufactured. In reality he beat Arreola x2 to win a vacant belt and hardly looked great in doing so, he also labored against an old Austin not too long beforehand. The guy was never a top notch heavyweight.... Common sense. He only won the WBC title due to Vitali retiring and the WBC setting up a **** poor tournament that didn't involve any of the divisions absolute best.

I touched on the OP and the semi off topic debate. It's all good. Prime Mercer smokes Joshua and Wilder.

LOL you do realize that boxrec ratings are based off a mathematical formula right. King's fault doe!

Was Stiverne ever a Klitschko, Fury, Joshua caliber guy? No. But the HW division was ****ing garbage back then. He was easily considered top 10 H2H at the time. Easily.

Yeah because I'm talking about the Boxrec ranking and not RING/ABC's

No he definitely wasn't... Wasn't a Povetkin, Jennings, Pulev or Chagaev etc. caliber guy either. Pure trash. He's only rated by Wilder fangirls now.

When did I bring up ABC rankings? I would never use ABC rankings as part of my argument for h2h match ups. By the way can you name me a few fighters with King that did not deserve to be rated in the Ring's top 10 since 2014(Besides Stiverne of course)? I never heard of King manipulating Ring ratings in recent times. The guy is pretty irrelevant now, didn't think he had that kind of influence.

Mercer beats Joshua?!?!?! A prime Mercer was being comfortably out boxed by Damiani before breaking his nose out of nowhere. I have just rewatched this fight and Damiani looked gassed from the 6th onwards and was still picking up the rounds! Are we saying that Damiani beats Joshua too?

Mercer didn't have an effective back foot game and that is what he would need to beat Joshua. The Damiani fight also shows that Mercer could be out worked at close range in a way that we have seen no one do to Joshua up until this point. I am not cherry picking when I bring up this Damiani fight, it is supposed to be one of Mercer's best wins along with the Morrison performance. If this fight happened I think a wide UD would be the most likely result, with a possible late stoppage to Joshua following a prolonged beat down.

Let's take it further, I think Joshua beats the version of Lewis that Mercer faced. Lewis at this point had very poor defence against the jab (against Klitschko Joshua showed excellent jab defence for the majority of that fight) and he had a problem with his balance when throwing power shots. If this fight happened I would expect Lewis to be stopped following a counter possibly mid rounds. Wilder has the same flaws too, so if Joshua can't beat him then I'll accept that I'm wrong about this Lewis fight. However give it three years and I recon what I have said here won't be seen as particularly controversial.

How the hell can you justify a shot and inactive Stiverne being rated #1 by the WBC? That was recently... King may not hold as much weight as he used to in the boxing world, but he certainly holds some.

What's my stupid game? I brought up ring/boxrec ratings and here's what you said verbatim "When you're a King fighter a rating can be easily manufactured.". I never once mentioned ABC rankings, like I said before it's irrelevant. Can you provide me some King fighters who were unjustifiably rated in the top 10 of ring/boxrec since 2014?

Mercer feeds into his strengths but if Lewis couldn't stop him then Gastony Juiceua won't be stopping him either.

He could scrape out a decision in a life and death affair , but its also very possible Mercer irons out AJ during his gassed out / recovery period.
50/50 fight.. Need to see more of AJ really. Tackam could have been an off night and he might not come in that heavy and sluggish in future fights.

One thing is for sure though and its the Mercer who Wlad cherry picked as a title defense would be body bagged within 2 rounds against AJ.
In a fight where Mercer doesn't land a punch . Unlike Wlads fight where he got his face jabbed off. lol

Your games = fanboying and fixating on small parts of posts and trying to twist them out of context rather than responding to on the actual points. ABC/Ring I said... We've been over this "list 10 or ___ guys you'd rate over Stiverne." Not going to do it again.

Explain how Stiverne was mandatory in 2017 despite 2 years of inactivity and looking like absolute dog**** against Rossy?

Are you okay? I'm trying to hold you to a point. I'm not trying to twist them or take them out of context.

"Explain how Stiverne was mandatory in 2017 despite 2 years of inactivity and looking like absolute dog**** against Rossy?"

This has absolutely no relevance to our argument at all. He shouldn't have got a mandatory shot. And even though he was ranked so high in the WBC rankings he wasn't rated on boxrec or ring. So what's your point exactly?
