Remind me who Wilder was fighting in bout number 16? Joshua v Martin (IBF Champion) Wilder v Reggie Pena. Bout number 19 Joshua v Klitschko (an ATG) Wilder v Daniel Cota. Get the picture?

Doesn't matter who he was fighting at his 16th fight.

We can use that flimsy argument for legends of the past. Who was Mike tyson fighting his 16th fight? Who was Ali fighting? Who was Wlad fighting? You get the picture? We can go on and on, it means nothing. None of those legends had the luxury option of buying belts off three paper champions.

Things are not black and white, so we have to get into account the context when discussing these things as boxing analyses instead of indulging in point scoring exercises.

The facts are Wilder has attempted to secure the big fights and for one reason through the other party either ducking or failing to pass drug tests, those fights have failed to materialize.

In comparison Hearn to his credit has carefully delivered carefully tailor made opponent's for AJ to devour. Every opponent bar Wlad....(maybe Whyte and Parker pushing because we didn't know too much about them prior to them fighting AJ) . We now found out from last weekend that they're a bunch of bums who can't do 12 rounds without near collapsing from exhaustion. What opponent has Wilder faced that has ever struggled to finish 12 rounds without them going into cardiac arrest?

None of the other fights on Jenner's resume, can you confidently say were 50/50. They were all mismatches to the 9th degree including this one against the 40 year old pedless Povetkin thats coming up.

Meanwhile Wilder is getting ready to fight the man who beat the man.

Joshua didn`t buy any belt. He won it in his 16th fight against a guy who had won it legitimately. Wilder has had 40 fight to fight decent opposition and failed dismally. Could`ve, should`ve, would`ve don`t count for jack ****. All his talk of fighting Fury is just that.....talk.

How did Charles win it legitimately when his opponent done his own knee in? Not to mention was a for a vacant belt that belonged to Fury.

Everyone knows and accepts Charles Martin is the very definition of a paper champion. There is not an ounce of credibility in anything he done in boxing.

You just need to accept the fact you're backing a sham paper champion and making excuses for buying belts that are not his.

Wilder is a real champion, one of the longest serving in fact and ready to fight anyone. Likewise is Fury. This is just what is. If Wilder or Fury had the same resume as AJ I wouldn't be putting it up on a pedestal, I'd say it was a good resume for this era, but still needs to unfiy against a real champion.

Not true at all. A little more than half the forum predicted Wlad to win.

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/the-official-a-joshua-vs-w-klitschko-prediction-thread.585023/

You know well that Wlad would never fight a guy like AJ if he didn't feel he was 100% up for it.

Wlad could come back now and he wouldn't be "shot to pieces ". The Wlad that lost to Jenners would still have beaten the Mormeks , Wachs , Thompsons , Ibragimovs etc.

A shot fighter is Tyson losing to Williams , or Holyfield losing to Larry Donald , or Golota losing to Adamek , or McCall losing to Pianeta. Wlad would not have lost to those type of guys.

Why did Vitali retire with two wins at age 40/41? Because he fought guys that far worse than Fury and Joshua.

Wlad lost to Fury and Joshua because of levels. He went after Joshua as a young pup believing it was the right time to get at him before he got better.

    His words , not mine.

He believed his experience and skill would overcome the inexperienced novice version of Jenner , but it turned out that even that version on Jenner was still better than Wlad.
So Jenner fought a fully capable Wlad , while he himself was not at his best. A prime , lighter , more confidant version of Brucey would be too much for any version of Wlad. We all know that at this stage :kiss:

Its true and it would be deserved. Hes actually already got a better resume in half the fights so hes made sure that never guna happen now. But its Wilders resume that is so bad and he is trashed for it. He certainly isnt getting away with it without comment on here.

You don't have any credibility when it comes to discussing Wlad. We all know that

You don't accept Wlad was past his prime at 40 years of age, yet you are shooting your mouth off in Vitali/Lewis discussions about Lewis being 38 years old being past his prime and not needing to rematch Vitali.

So how on earth can we take your opinion seriously when you don't apply the same reasoning with other fighters?

Past prime is totally different to being shot to pieces. Pacman beating 39 year old Mayweather would have still been a legitimate win.

Ok that is a fair point. However you haven't even accepted that Wlad was past prime.

Wilder has fought a list of bums, now that`s a paper champion. How is Fury a long serving champion? He beat Klitschko and then didn`t do anything.

    I was referring to Wilder.

As for fury he's resume it is very similar to the level of AJ's resume except he beat Wlad when he was undefeated and active.

The winner of Wilder vs Fury will boast asuperior resume to AJ which consists mostly of short, pudgy, stumpy feather fisted tailor made old men and green or out of shape young fighters who had never fought in a big arena before.

Why don't you tell me the wins that you think are great on AJ's record besides Wlad? Let's break it down one by one so we get past the matchroom brainwashing.

No more a tailor made opponent than the bloated corpse of Stiverne in their rematch. A more embarrassing title challenger I have seldom ever seen and to see Wilders ridiculous celebration after he'd Windmilled Stiverne half to death, you'd think Wilder had just decapitated AJ, WK, Parker, Ortiz and Povetkin with a single right hand......ridiculous

    Tyson Fury lol

How many champions historically made zero defences of their title?

Tyson Fury's reign as champion is no better than Buster Douglas. In fact Douglas was better as he beat Mike Tyson to win the title.
