Well in that case after 19 fights Lewis was no where near as good as AJ is! AJ has a much better trainer than Lewis had at that stage of his career, pre Steward.
I mean`t AJ would have more than an outside chance because he has more dangerous tools than Rahman and McCall.
@Tyson379 Amuse me, I'm bored. What Lennox are we talking about here? A Prime Lennox? Or The 38 year old, uninterested, on the verge of retirement, unfit Lennox that still ripped Vitali's face open? And what AJ are we talking about, the AJ that went life and death with a 41 year old WK who hadn't fought in a year? The AJ that was dragged 7 rounds by Whyte? The AJ that was dragged 7 rounds by Breazeale? Please entertain me..
What are you talking about ? Joshua outclassed Whyte and Breazeale and finished both of them by one sided beatdown in 7 rounds.
Firstly Lennox would get nervous and when he gets nervous he knocks people out. Its only when he is over confident does he get tagged. Doesn't go 4 rounds. Lennox was quick and massively strong.
Lewis exceptional inside and outside boxing would be far too much for Joshua. Joshua wouldn't be able to cope with that kind of work. He couldn't even handle a teenage boy who embarrassed him inside his own gym.
Well explain to me, if AJ is such a beast, a savage and hits so very hard and he completely outclassed both of those then how did those bang average heavyweights last a full 6 rounds? And make no mistake Whyte and Breazeale are seriously bang average. And AJ didn't outclass an aged, hadn't fought for a year Wladimir, he went life and death. I'm British, a fan of AJ and think he will get better and better but to dismiss Lewis and say he was overrated and AJ would basically blow him away isn't just disrespectful it's completely clueless.
The Vitali fight exposed Lennox Lewis. He can't handle tall and mobile fighters. I see Lewis getting sparked out by guys like Joshua, Wlad, and Fury.
You are talking to one of AJ's most devoted mascots on this forum. He seems to believe Joshua is invincible, clean as a whistle and will not hear any criticism of him.
I strongly favor AJ over Lennox from his fights vs Bruno, Jackson or McCall. Two fighters with great size, power, speed (for SHW) but Lennox at that time had too many flaws. A Steward-trained Lennox is a different story, he knew how to tie his opponent, he has improved his jab, balance, he just became a better, more skilled boxer. That Lennox can KO current AJ, but it wouldn't be in any case Lewis - Grant 2 or Lewis - Briggs 2, AJ is far better than these big guys.
