Ruddock gave plenty but Tyson did no choking even though he was no where near his best in both those fights. Secondly the fact that a fighter makes another fighter scared based on his whole image and personality and the ability to inspire such fear even before the actual fight which other fighters cannot is the stuff of legends and only adds to his legendary appeal.

First point - Ruddock never beat anyone of note and Tyson should have (and did) disapatch him with ease.

    2nd Point - I agree.

Its easy to say this in hindsight given how ruddock's career unfolded afterward but back then Ruddock was a feared contender, was rated as the hardest puncher in the world and people were scared and criticizing tyson for taking a huge risk at the time by agreeing to a fight with Ruddock whom he was accussed of ducking and in the actual fight he took a lot of punches from him.

Tyson was a young kid. Joshua would not make it to the Olympics at 19 either. So the Olympic comment has zero relevance here, except to say that Joshua was lucky to win Gold. He lost his first match to Savon, but the games were in London so... he advanced, then won razor thin matches to win gold.

If Wlad was 37, he beat the Joshua he faced. And lets not forget Joshua spit out his mouth piece, getting a 10+ second break from the ref with unsteady legs. Without that cheating and the ref giving some home town cookin' for the break. I'm not sure he makes it out of that round.

If the Tyson who wasted Holmes fought AJ or the version of Wlad he beat, there'd be the same result as there was with Holmes.

Yeah, Tyson was feared based on what he did in the ring, he didn't cast any voodoo on his opponents.

Imagine if Wladimir never clinched. Without his cheating how many times more would he have been knocked out ?

Yeah it's easy to knock his beating Ruddock, but Ruddock was considered a dangerous fighter back then. In fact, Holyfield was criticized for fighting Foreman instead of taking on Ruddock. Going into the fight, the Foreman/Holyfield fight was viewed as a farce.

Today, many will agree Holyfield would likely beaten Ruddock, but at the time many were saying he was too big and too strong for Holyfield

More like he'd finish his opponents sooner. They all clinch. But with Joshua gets hurt he fouls or spits out his mouth piece to catch a break.

Bruno punched as hard as AJ.....Bruno had a similar bodybuilding look than AJ........Bruno was strong as a ox.....,,Bruno had a ramrod jab..........Bruno was a dirty fighter...Bruno was as stiff and rigid as AJ...Bruno and AJ have similar poor stamina.....Bruno had the same zero head movement as AJ......Tyson fighting AJ would be a replay of the Bruno fights, fact, as another matter of fact , I believe Bruno had the better chin.

41 year old WK who stunk out the joint for a decade, who , in "prime" condition went on a track meet against Heavyweight fraud of the century David "pinky" toe haye, is shot beyond shot, he has no snap in his punches, he pushes his jab, no stamina , no coordination.....he stills sees the openings but the signal from the brain does not reach the hands anymore in time....it was already evident against full time Janitor Jennings......

To put ii into perspective, did Tyson had to get off the deck to defeat old Holmes in the eleventh hour, lol.

Holmes was washed up and inactive, Wlad wasn't. Also Tyson was utter peak, AJ isn't.

What you see with AJ now is what you get, he is at his peek, he will not improve plus you cannot train a chin.

Mark my words, he is a KO waiting to happen.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree..............but you will come around and agree with me eventually that AJ is done improving.......
