I dunno i seemed to think he showed incredible heart and grit in his career right up to and especially including the ruddock wars. That donovan ruddock knocks aj cold.

Tysons fighting instincts in those days can be seen at how he swung and fought back wildly after being hit by a hail mary right hand by bonecrusher, and the bruno tucker punches....his love of fighting past the bell (tillis)..the reggie gross comeback....even shot desireless post 1991 nineties tyson showed real heartvand beleif coming back against botha.

Wilder if he can connect right with his windmill will have a solid punchers chance against AJ. Heck if David Haye can win over Bellow, even he has a solid punchers chance against AJ.

AJ is 28 I think. Sure, there's still some time left for some improvement like Lewis improved some at a few years older. But if he isn't as good as he's going to get, he's very close to it.

    LMFAO

Joshua would be tysons most dangerous match up...

Tyson would come out very quick and hurt him, and once he hurt him he would know how to finish him.

Mike was and still is a student of the sport, he would spot every angle of weakness in AJ and go straight to it, and when he finds it, he would be relentless about it....

AJ would spend whatever time he has left trying to overcome his crisis, and whilst trying to overcome it and in between thinking what to do next the fight would be over.

AJ was caught and hurt by Whyte, almost stopped or KOd by Wlad.

If Mike caught him like they did, do you think he would feel sorry for him or go in and finish it?

Tyson beat lots of big HWs and looked good doing it, the only time he was truly hurt was when Bruno tagged him..

    And look how that ended...

Sorry but Mike would destroy AJ, and very quickly at that...

Larry Holmes was an awesome fighter but this is just wrong. Joshua would be the one getting knocked out.

Wladimir fought Joshua in April 2017. His previous fight was in November 2015. I'd say that's a fair amount of inactivity. (It was by far the longest lay off since he turned professional 20 years earlier). Any fighter out of 17 months is inactive.

Wladimir did nothing against Fury (Nov '15) and looked ordinary and slowed down against Jennings (April '15) so you have to go back more than 2 years to pull up anything to conclude that he wasn't "washed up" or close to it.
The Fury fight will remain inconclusive, since Fury simply shut him down, but realistically Wlad was already some way down the hill. And I doubt 17 months inactivity helped him.

I think Wlad of 2017 / Holmes of 1988 is a acceptable comparison.

I gave AJ more credit for beating Wlad, but only relatively. In other words, I wasn't sure AJ could even beat the old man. Tyson I rated a lot higher than that.

Watching AJ with Takam last night, I think it's safer to say AJ is not yet ready for a Mike Tyson fantasy fight.

With a 30lb "advantage" Joshua struggled with a 36 year old who had 12 days notice.

Takam was overlooked. He even proved he is Parker level because he gave Parker a tough fight. Maybe only the cuts last night and 12 days notice prevented Takam giving Joshua a fight as close as he gave Parker? Who would give Parker a chance against Tyson?

Right now Parker is Joshua's level. Not mike Tyson.

Tyson would knock out a gassed AJ in 6 rounds, believe it or not I'm a Joshua fan.

Based on his most recent performance, never mind Mike Tyson, Joshua might struggle to KO Mike Myers (as the 'Austin Powers' or Wayne's World character). Obviously I wouldn't suggest Joshua could knock out Mike Myers as the 'Fat *******' character, because so many on this forum would argue that weight is everything).
