    You're issuing caution's now???

Who are you to issue cautions!!!

Can folk not have an opinion without having to basically be threatened with a caution, not that your threat of a caution means anything in law ******* btw.

    Very few.

Kubrat Pulev would have been about as good as Joshua could have done at the moment!

The implications might be interesting if he were successful with this strategy.

Please. Joshua is still quite inexperienced and green and will improve somewhat.

I'm not even talking about Joshua's current ability or standing. Hell he may not even be top 5 right now for all we know. He could also get pole axed next fight. That's not to say he won't improve a bit.

I found it as amusing as anyone the way so many overreacted when he beat Wlad. Blind Freddy knew there were a lot of factors involved including Wlad's age, inactivity, how far he had potentially declined and the list goes on.

Plenty are going overboard over one supposed poor showing too. You are one of them in your race to discredit him in case somebody favors or rates him over one of your preferred golden oldies.

He could well get beaten at any point forward, he looks potentially vulnerable. He might also rise up from the pack as it's a pretty average one right now.

Time will tell. One thing for sure is that's he garnered some excitement and interest for boxing. That's got to be good.

I'm not sold on Pulev. Anybody who can't beat Derick chisora beyond dispute is not world level. I never thought pulev was as good as Takam. Pulev has been a exposed twice. Once by Klitschko, and once as a drugs cheat.

Joshua hit Wlad with a hellacious uppercut and Wlad remained standing and conscious.

Either Wlad doesn't have a weak chin.
OR Joshua doesn't have great punching power.

No I don't think it's going overboard to say that performance offers a lot of perspective in regards to any premature ATG standing for any fighter who is still at the beginning of his world campaign.

It was a fine example to remind folks who are desperate to get carried away on the King Kong factor that they HAD been getting carried away. There is no King Kong! And there Never has been at any time in history. What we do have is retired champions who we can gauge and that is only when comparisons should be made with greatness.

It does not discredit Joshua to say let's wait and see. He is not there yet. In fact he definitely isn't is he? After all this was the fight where he was going to show what his fight with Klitschko taught him. A 30lb weight advantage against a 37 year old on 12 days notice? But that is not to say that what he showed is not enough to rule supreme today.

He could still go on and pip Parker or Wilder in lacklustre fights. But I feel it is prudent to say that is the best we can expect. I don't think the last two fights prove he is a gulf above the other two guys. If I am proved wrong I will be pleasantly surprised.

At the end of the Takam fight Joshua went on the microphone to ask the fans if they wanted to see knockouts. What did the crowd do? In union they screamed "Yay!" At their superstar. The majority of "sport fans" want this, and I believe they Work harder to scrape around the bottom of the top ten to find Kayo victims to deliver this demand rather than seek eliminations or competitive challenges.

I think Joshua had a decent showing against a tricky opponent in Takam, despite getting his nose hurt/broken by a butt early on. He did show signs of gassing a bit in the mid rounds again, though. Hard to tell how much the nose might be a factor.

He didn't lose a round, hardly got hit and got his guy out of there (premature stoppage, though) in the end. And Takam looked focussed and in shape. Did his best in there.

But this fight isn't where we're going to get the measure of Joshua.

I agree, decent under the circumstances and the current climate. It's as good as it gets for today.

Takam is good. Better than given credit for but still ridiculously handicapped with being the away fighter, 30lb smaller, so much older and with only 12 days notice.

It's worlds away from comparison with Mike Tyson isn't it?

1.Takam has been in training as a standby since the Pulev fight was signed. He was 235.5lbs, 6.25lbs lighter than he was for the Parker fight.
    2.Takam is 36.Not 37.
3.Takam was 18.5lbs the lighter man not 30lbs.

Joshua has potential to improve but I am a bit surprised people have bought into him so readily.

He proved he was a world class fighter with the Klitschko win. That's very good. Klitschko was old and past it but I think he still possessed world class ability in April 2017.

So Joshua is a world class boxer now. But what's all this talk of him becoming an ATG ? It's possible. But it's possible for a few boxers out there in the division. Why is Joshua such a favourite?
    It must be the marketing.

Someone here the other day said "Joshua the best fighter Wlad faced" as if it was obvious .
But clearly AJ wasn't the best Wlad faced.
Look what Fury did to Wlad, beat him about 10-2 rarely getting out of first gear.
Look what Corrie Sanders did to Wlad. Obliterated him in 2 rounds.

I'd put Joshua slightly above Sam Peter at the moment.
He looks nicer and I don't expect him to eat himself into a fattie, but he's just above that level.

He can improve. How much? I don't know.

His win over Takam was fine (except for the horrible stoppage).
Joshua is proving he can win against world level opposition now, not bums and fraud paper champs.

I'd make him a favourite against Wilder probably but I don't expect that fight to happen.

Joseph Parker might be a 50-50 fight against Joshua. Parker's stock has gone down recently but he's being matched with awkward opponents.

It's actually an indictment against the state of boxing nowadays that guys who are said to be early on in the "learning process" are holding heavyweight titles.

It's a shame Tyson Fury retired. He was the only youngish fighter who proved himself a good boxer with some skills. He had room for improvement too. He seemed a natural.
