Steve Bunce mentions this young amateur a lot on his podcast and i'm looking forward to seeing him at the olympics. From what i have heard of him, if he is fully fit he is a shoe in for the Gold How good is he, anyone seen him live?
Won last two ABA's. Watch his fight on rickys website. Can clearly bang but there really is no one at his weight nationally.
Nah they suspended him cos of that but he got cleared and boxed in the Euro's afterwards. He's still a part of Team GB as far as I'm aware. From the reports I read they were pleased with how he did at the Euro's cos it was his first major international tourney and he's only being boxing a few years.
He's in the squad - he went to the Europeans, which was his first major event, and I think he won twice before losing. He was on his feet. It's hard for a super-heavy. David Price failed to qualify in 2004 and he was much more experienced - it's not easy to get to the Olympics and perform. James DeGale failed to win a gold at the Commonwealth Games, 2 or 3 Europeans and 2 World Championships, but he picked up experience. Josh needs top quality bouts and about 30 of them before the Olympics. In 2000, 2004 and 2008 I can only think of one real gold-medal shock. Adios.
Not sure if any of you guys watch This Week, but Haye was just a guest and mistakenly said Joshua won by KO in the first round against Martin
