Joshua doesn't have an extreme amount of muscle for his frame size and that's the point, The proportion of muscle to frame size on AJ is no more than a kell brook or tim bradley or andre berto Hes just a 6ft6 version of one of them. AJ just happens to have a naturally big frame along with great proportions,

He has a very similar physique to frank bruno, i am guessing he was on roids too.

Let's say that Kell Brook is 160 pounds post hydration. That's a BMI of 23.6 at a 5'9" height.

Anthony Joshua is 6'6" 250 pounds. That's a BMI of 28.9

So what we can see here is that you have no ****ing clue about what you're talking about.

I guess they are all on 'roids. Seriously.
But very few physiques in boxing are evidence alone of 'roid use.
It's not like pro wrestling where plenty of guys are swollen freaks.

If any heavyweight had a "body that screams roids" it would be 2000s version of Shannon Briggs.

It's not Joshua's size alone that raises the red flag. It's his combination of size and cutness. Someone like Ustinov probably has about as much lean muscle mass as Joshua, if not more, but it's hidden under a vast layer of flab.

Any human that wants to pack on large amounts of muscle has to contend with packing on similarly large amounts of fat, unless they want to use chemical means. The human body isn't built to have the sort of muscle to fat ratios that fighters like Joshua and Overeem possess.

What does height have to do with anything? Height is almost wholly genetic.

Tyson's childhood physique gets more ridiculous every year. 190lbs of pure muscle at 12 years old? Give me a break. Tyson was always stocky, but he never started to look otherworld until he was a grown man. Before then he was just a well muscled kid.

ok ?

UKAD: For the 2014/15 testing year, 112 samples were collected and ****ysed for Human Growth Hormone (HGH) in professional boxing.
As per the previous question, we operate an intelligence-led testing programme, which is frequently reviewed based on the information available to us.
But it is also important to note that under the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code, samples can now be stored for up to ten years allowing us to retrospectively test for substances as new and more effective tests are developed.

McCline was nowhere near 12% bodyfat. Closer to around 20% based on how he looked in that fight (which is actually fairly respectable for a heavyweight boxer).

I'd estimate that Joshua fights more around 12%. At anything below 10% bodyfat his performance would be severely impaired.

But some people are born genetically predisposed to be more muscular and stocky than others. Some people are naturally lean and carry little subcutaneous fat. Why can't someone have a low body fat % and a BMI of 28?

Says who?

Another picture of the "unnaturally huge" AJ: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CVxow3pWwAAWbZm.jpg    AJ is so freaking' skinny I find this entire discussion here hilarious. What's next? Wilder is also on steroids? He has a sixpack and what 17" arms? When does this BS end?

ESB logic is this: Anyone with a 18+" Biceps and a sixpack IS AUTOMATICALLY ON steroids. No discussion needed

There is no size reference on that picture. He is 6'6 oder 6'7. There is 0% chance he is clean and it's pretty funny to see you in denial.

Yes Faeryn, everyone with an 18" Biceps is on steroids. Every chick with D cup breasts had plastic surgery. Everyone living in a $5 million villa robbed a bank. There are never any exceptions to the rule, the world is black and white. 0 or 1.

Why do you need size reference? Isn't it about his proportions?

*******s was he 20% body fat, at that level of body fat you'd have clear love handles and a bit of a belly.

Here's McCline even heavier at 270lbs before his fight with Byrd and he has a 6 pack and I doubt he's over 15%.

If he has a 6 pack at 270lbs no way he was 20% body fat at 263lbs couple of years before.

BTW I have no way of proving AJ is or is not on steroids (neither have you and your buddies). My point is: 1 out of 20 healthy men can look EXACTLY like AJ with 10+ years of training/diet and discipline. Read: Look like AJ, not box like AJ! :deal
