I agree the Saudis probably would not move up the date. But I also don't think waiting on them is smart given such a protracted timeline. They floated this idea with some seriousness back in the spring. It easily could have happened in August just like Usyk/Joshua II did last year, particularly as this event no longer is tethered to Fury/Usyk. So I'm suggesting they take the very big fight in London without the Saudis and then go back to them if victorious. Hearn & Finkel obviously have numbers we don't, but who knows whether those Saudi numbers will materialize. It's costing these guys time and money to be out of the ring this long, especially Wilder at this point. He has fought one round in the past 22 months and is now in his late 30s. Clock is ticking.
Sounds like you have an anti-AJ bias which is fine many of you are jealous of the man’s success. Hrgovic I suspect will want to be the best version of himself when he fights AJ which he cannot since he has prepared for something else. In my time I have only accepted short notice fights calculatedly because of the type of fighter I had on my hands. I know you may not like to hear this but you need to factor in the best business decisions. This is more a problem for Hrgovic than AJ.
Even Hrgovic himself would not agree to a fight with Joshua considering that he was preparing for a southpaw, the fight with McKean is good and nothing needs to be changed.
It just won't happen. Eddie has spent so much of his time trying to get into the bag with Saudi. There is no way he is phoning up those princes and saying "it's off."
That's right, how could anyone be disappointed by a disappointing opponent unless they were biased and jealous Credit where it is due: it took a little longer for you to run to that classic than I thought it would.
I think people dislike AJ because of his fake persona and his post fight meltdown. Guy is a complete muppet but he isnt as bad as people make him out to be and compared to Fury and Wilder, atleast he fought more and better opposion. I wish we can see him vs a solid heavy and then Wilder next would be fun.
I am saying it’s a **** show caused by Whyte now it’s in salvage mode. Chisora or Washington may not be great but it may be that or cancel the whole the whole card.
I don't see how it could be Gerald Washington. That would blow up the Derek Chisora fight as well then. Instead of having Joshua vs a fringe contender as well as Chisora vs fringe Washington, presumably now Chisora would just be dropped from the card and Washington evelated to billing status? That doesn't make sense to me at all.
There is nothing fake about his persona. What you need to understand is his politeness comes from being An Anglo-Nigerian. Culturally we are polite like that it’s the way we are brought with respect for elders and society but we are still alpha males. Those who dislike him do because of his success they wish they were him because of his cross over appeal. They also pissed because their mums love him and their girlfriends fancy him. Case in point see Tyson Fury express his jealousy of AJ: This content is protected
Isn't Jarrell Miller an obvious choice here? There's enough smack talking and history (e.g. the failed drug tests) to make the fight marketable with Miller being an obvious heel. At the same time Miller lacks obvious one-punch power and hasn't got the stamina to give Joshua more than about 3-4 rounds. A pretty safe choice. McKean? Safe choice, but not a name. Chisora? He's a name - but even as used up as he is - he *could* clip AJ. He's not a 100% safe choice. I'm sure Miller would take the fight on short notice. No question.
