Okay, Wlad has 20+ title defense. Some of them were weak. Off the top of my head, a rough order would be: Povetkin Ibragimov Byrd Chagaev Peter Haye Brewster Fury* We'll see if he boxes again. Jennings* ( Much if his career is left ) could go up or down Pulev* ( Much of his career is left ) could go up or down Chambers Thompson McCline Rahman Brock Mercer Austin Wach Botha Pianeta Jefferson Mormeck >>>. You can argue Mormeck, but at least he was somebody. Outside of him I would rate all of these men above Molina, who has already been KO'd three times. And all of the above men were better than Charles Martin, or Dom Breazeale too. This is how weak Joshua's title defenses are. He still has yet to defend his title against a top 10 ring magazine oppoent and the division is as weak as I have seen in in decades... Wilder and Joshua are ruining heavyweight boxing. Maybe Joshua will fight someone, but if Wlad retires he might not.
why are they all better than Molina? I would say Molina, a fringe contender, is what Wlad fed on in the shape of guys like Pianeta. Did Pianeta even manage an intercontinental level title? they allarent, why are you lying about them? explain your motive for lying, thanks. Breazaeale is on the level of Jennings. its his 2nd defence. Wlads first two defences were agains the clowns Shufford and Jefferson. If you are arguing Joshua is weak to begin, then you are arguing wlad is too. if you claim this, then you also claim wlad was ruining it too.
Jeffries won his title from a 37 years old 167lbs man who had not fought in 2 years. Marciano won his from a 37 years old man whom it took 5 tries before he finally won the title, a veteran who had 16 losses on his record, 4 by ko.Wlad didn't have all the titles until he beat Haye , he then defended it against 39years old Mormeck and 40 years old Thompson.among his other soft touches are nobodies like Wach,Pianeta and Leapai, glorified club fighters. "At least he was somebody"lol Everybody is somebody! Wladimir Klitschko pummels Jean-Marc Mormeck By Dan Rafael, ESPN.com, March 5, 2012 Klitschko, 35, of Ukraine but a hero in Germany, is the No. 1 heavyweight on the planet, the legitimate champion in the midst of a historic title reign that began in 2006. He is 6-foot-6, a chiseled 245 pounds and possesses tremendous one-punch power in his right hand and a murderous jab. Mormeck, France's most popular active fighter, is 39, stands only 5-11, weighs 216 pounds and is not a big puncher. Moreover, the former cruiserweight champion had not fought in 15 months and in his three-fight heavyweight campaign (following a more than two-year retirement) he had looked positively awful. He looked bad against club fighter Vinny Maddalone, got a hometown gift decision against Fres Oquendo and was almost as lucky to escape with a hometown split decision against Timur Ibragimov. There is a reason he was a massive, massive underdog against Klitschko, who hand-picked Mormeck for his 11th defense even though Mormeck was one of the most unworthy heavyweight title challengers in recent boxing history. Klitschko and his older brother, fellow champ Vitali Klitschko, have essentially cleaned out the top 10 of those willing to face them. So Wladimir, who fought only once last year in his wipeout of former titlist David Haye (who ended Mormeck's second cruiserweight title reign before moving up in weight), took this soft-touch fight and still drew a crowd of about 50,000 to Esprit Arena for a fight originally scheduled for December but postponed when Klitschko needed surgery to remove a kidney stone a week before the bout. Hopefully, the fans got a dose of entertainment from the theatrical ring walks because that was about as much drama as there was. Klitschko, as expected, dominated Mormeck, who could not do anything whatsoever against the champion in one of the most pathetic displays a heavyweight title challenger has ever put forth. Try these stats on for size, courtesy of CompuBox: Mormeck was 0-for-2 in first-round punches, 1-for-5 in the second round, 2-for-8 in the third round and 0-for-4 in the fourth round. That means in the 10 minutes, 12 seconds that the fight lasted, Mormeck landed only three punches out of 19 thrown (a putrid 16 percent). Klitschko, meantime, landed 39 of 135 (29 percent) and scored a spectacular knockout. The size, speed, power and talent disparity was stark. Klitschko more or less used the first round to feel Mormeck out and leaned on him, almost to excess, in order to sap some of his energy. (That's an old trick taught by his trainer, Emanuel Steward.) But then it was basically target practice for Klitschko. You got the feeling that he could have ended the fight any time he pleased. When he finally began to let his hands go, he dropped Mormeck with a clean right hand in the second round. He continued to abuse him in the third round and then put together a nasty three-punch combination to end the fight -- a left hook, right hand and another left. Mormeck went down and, although he tried to beat the count, referee Luis Pabon counted him out at 1 minute, 12 seconds. Enough said!lol
I don't know ask Lewis's former management that, they seem to know more than anyone would ,wouldn't they?
Simply most posters cant read and would see it has nothing to with Joshua who now I know is the go to guy to scare everyone around here. lol P.s most ppl also think Tyson vs Tillis was close but we all know that's not the case.A competent boxing enthusiast would know how to score a Olympic fight which is night and day to pro boxing.
Sums up his whole career really. He has to tenderise his foe to exhaustion before he fells safe to box them. Couldn't even beat a shot , half retired cruiser weight in a clean match? And he's meant to be some sort of ATG? http://en.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/139215.html http://www.boxingnews24.com/2012/03...f-for-his-constant-clinching-against-mormeck/
Both!! I cant believe some of the long time posters are even entertaining this sh#t and where r the mods that should have put this along with the Wilder post in the General forum. Posters complain wats going on the Classic then they entertain these 2 posts. The mods dont move em. Pretty sad
Two judges scored it 6-4 for Tyson I thought that was about right, not a close fight ,but not a one-sided beat- down either.
Clearly Tyson won 8 rnds . Also counting the knock down which is 8/10 then would have made it impossible to call that fight close which in fact they were using only1 point round scoring so only a 9/10 rnds were possible .
The post should'nt be moved bc it has to do with PAST time fighters ,now its in the current section ? What a stupid remark and honestly would have left the Joshua opinion vid off if i knew he was the boogeyman around here. lol
