He was moving strangely too, almost as if he wanted to show he could move rather than be cumbersome which has been an accusation. I think the way he boxed somehow fitted in with the weird Mexican marketing BS which Schaefer was keen to highlight. I suspect Joyce could have won that fight doing a David Price impression though and will not be so carefree when stepping up in class.

Someone needs to tell Schaefer the Mexican Joe thing is not gonna stick.

 

Not a chance. I’m a big Hughie fan. I love Peter and Tyson too. But he boxed with zero intent against Parker. Joyce is cumbersome but it’s so easy to see that he catches Hughie and makes it physical. Unless the ref is Joshua-Parker tier, and totally prevents any sort of physicality, Joyce makes mincemeat out of Hughie.

Let’s see if Hughie lets his hands go against Sexton. If Hughie starts firing them and demonstrates some improved power after his illness that his team claimed hampered his power then perhaps I’ll revise my prediction.

 

Paul Butler was 100% an extra in Deliverance.
