Anthony Mundine joins Dunkin's stable

    Australian Anthony Mundine has signed with Las Vegas-based Cameron Dunkin, considered by many to be boxing's version of the manager to the stars.
    A former two-time super middleweight titlewinner who has also fought as a junior middleweight and middleweight, Mundine (43-4, 25 knockouts) joins Dunkin's impressive list of current and past clients.
    Dunkin also manages WBC/WBO titleholder Nonito Donaire, former WBA lightweight beltholder Brandon Rios, WBO junior welterweight strapholder Tim Bradley, unbeaten featherweight contender Mikey Garcia and ex-middleweight beltholder Kelly Pavlik.
    Mundine, 36, has won three straight fights since being stopped in the fifth round by Garth Wood in December of 2010, including a 10-round unanimous decision over Wood in their immediate rematch in April of last year.
    Mundine dropped Wood in the ninth and 10th rounds of their clash in Queensland to pull out the tight decision.
    Dunkin is eying potential fights such as those opposite WBC middleweight beltholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., WBA junior welterweight titleholder Miguel Cotto or WBC junior middleweight strapholder Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
    "He's been a great champion. He's 36 years old, but he's still an outstanding fighter, and there's great fights out there for him," said Dunkin.
    "He could fight Chavez Jr., he could fight Miguel Cotto, or he could fight Canelo. He can fight any of those guys. He's really a 154-pounder, but whoever's a big fight for him, he's ready to go."

    They might feed him to jcc jnr if he gets through the rubio fight.

    Geale on abc radio today.....said he has had ofers from maravilla, jcc jnr and sturm - who offered neutral ground by having the fight in the UK.

    I could see Top Rank feeding Mundine to Chavez Jr. on a HBO BAD sort of card.
    Maybe Mundine has a fight 1st for a bit of exposure & then goes in there.
    Mundine must be some sort of serious going to Cam Dunkin.
    Dunkin wouldnt bother with Mundine otherwise.

    Geale definitely made the right decision going with Gary "Site Fees" Shaw as his overseas promoter.
    All he will ever get is B side deals.
    IMO very poor choice.

    So, how can alot of the kunts on here say choc doesnt try, if he is doing this., clearly he wants to have a go doesnt he? I wish him the best, probably to little to late, hope some of u kunts will cheer him on 2! Go choc!

    never banned i dont think, just not liked after his comments... not even the USA would ban an international athlete for making a comment, no matter how ridiculous and offensive it was

    Was not so long ago he was going over to train with Angelo Dundee I think,never happened would have been Cannon Fodder back then and has no hope now,this is another beat up and will believe it when it happens.!!!!!!

    ANTHONY MUNDINE will seek to avenge his shock defeat to Garth Wood last December in a rematch at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on April 13.
    That loss had him slip from the World Boxing Association's No.2 ranked junior-middleweight contender to No.9. The pair will announce details of the fight at a news conference today, where Mundine is expected to face questioning about whether his career is on the line if beaten again by the former South Sydney fullback who earned his shot against the three-time world champion by winning The Contender reality television boxing series.
    The fifth-round knockout has cost Mundine a potential world title bout, while elevating Wood into ninth position in the WBA's middleweight rankings. Before his December 8 bout with Mundine, which was fought at middleweight, Wood was not ranked in the top 15 by the main boxing organisations in any division.
    Mundine, who had moved to junior-middleweight following last January's win over Robert Medley, was ranked the No.2 contender after wins over Carlos Adan Jerez and Ryan Waters. Had he beaten Wood, the 35-year-old former NRL star was set to bring WBA junior-middleweight champion Rigoberto Alvarez to Australia early this year.
    He then planned to head to the US with a world title and train under the legendary Angelo Dundee, who was in Muhammad Ali's corner for all but two of his 61 fights. Dundee, who Mundine knows through Russell Crowe, also trained Sugar Ray Leonard, among others.
    However, Mundine's loss to Wood enabled the WBA's No.1 contender, Austin Trout, to challenge Alvarez and the American won a unanimous points decision in Mexico on February 5.
    Mundine will be keen to fight Trout but he must first overcome Wood, who shocked the boxing world when he knocked The Man to the canvas in the fifth round of their bout at Acer Arena.
