Former champion Anthony Mundine is taking some more shots at Sakio Bika, one of Mundine's many Australian rivals. Mundine is in route to moving down from super middleweight to middleweight, but he would move back up to 168 for Bika - if they meet on his terms. Bika recently went through Peter Manfredo Jr. in three rounds and prior to that, he knocked out Jaidon Codrington to win "The Contender" season three reality show.

Mundine recently took a trip to the United States and met with Oscar De La Hoya to see if the two can work together in the future. Mundine is open to being promoted by De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions for the right fight. He plans to meet with De La Hoya after the Golden Boy's December 6 fight with Manny Pacquiao has been concluded.

He claims to have sparred with Bika in the Australian gyms and said claims to have dominated his rival during those meetings. He tried to make the fight in the past but says Bika is asking for too much money. Between the two of them, Bika is more well known in America.

"We are trying to fight (Daniel) Geale, Bika and these sort of guys. People want to see me fight them but at the same time they've got to understand what I'm giving them is twice or two-and-a-half times what they can get. I'd be happy to fight Bika and I'd love to fight him,'' Mundine said.

"I've done numerous rounds with him in the gym and he is easy work for me. I will prove that if he gives me the opportunity to fight and if he is not ridiculous in monetary terms. I don't see any middleweight that can trouble me if I'm on my game. Not one.''

This article doesn't have quite the same arrogant and dismissive tone about it that Mundine's articles about Kessler, for example, have had. It's mad of me to think so but I get the feeling that Mundine is really considering fighting someone like Bika.:nut

I'm just sick of his excuses.

He's desperate to make a name for himself in the US so he can get big money fights, yet claims the perfect opponent to him to break into the US market (Bika) is asking for too much.

Seriously, a stitch in time saves 9 - if he gave Bika what he wants, and he beat him, there he is on the US radar, just like that.

Mundines mentions that he is happy to fight Bika unless Sakio prices himself too high etc..

In all honesty at this stage Sakio has the bigger world wide profile and is coming off better performances against better opposition..

Mundine is too dillusional to realise that though..

This fight should be happening..A fight the Mouth can easily win in my opinion and would only do good things for his profile..

He can give Nader Hamdan 250k so surely giving a fighter of Bika's calibre a decent figure aint to hard..

Bika v Mundine on a Golden Boy card as a main support to a fight like BHOP V Dawson wld be great exposure for Bumdine and a winnable fight.

Mundine can fight Taylor in Feb and than get ready for this fight mid-year.

I just don't believe anymore that Mundine has any geuine intention of stepping up. Look how hard he has tried to get back in the ring with Green, does anyone really think they would get anywhere near as much exposure or money as they did last time?
If Mundine really beleives he can win then he should fight Bika, and the money should be a secondary concern. He can beat Bika, but Bika could also clock him one good.

He's in it for money and that's it... What a waste of bloody talent. he has had all the opportunity in the world to fight big fights and make a name for himself. He is no warrior he is a business man and that's just a waste.

Guys like Bika, Green and even soliman are after money as well but have never really backed down from a fight and have taken on guys when they were well and truly the underdog. I wish mundine would do that. he has the talent but lacks the nurries.

Easy work when he was in the Danny Green form . . . Mundne is an old man now, i see Bika giving Mundine loads of trouble with the form both boys have shown in their last 2 fights . . . Mundine is becoming increasingly easier to hit and hurt and Bika is very strong, he would not be dettered in any way if he did begin to be outboxed . . . He goes foward hard for 12 rounds, Anthony at this stage may not be able to deal with that the way he could 2 to 3 years ago . . .

Although i believe Mundine should win a comfortable points decision over Bika, Bika is definately a hard nights work for any boxer at 168.

Is that true that Mundine coughed up 250k for Hamden for their fight ? If so then Anthony really looked after his mate. I wouldn't have thought Hamden would get anywhere near that much. Surely Bika would accept 250k for a fight with Mundine. Mundine is constantly saying that Geale, Bika etc are outpricing themselves for a fight with him, but how serious is Anthony about fighting them ? How much is he actually offering them ?
