after his mouth got him in trouble several years ago re: america, i think he may be a little worried about venturing over there by the looks of it. i thought he could have marketed himself over there to gain much more coin then what he makes in aussie, although i am aware he still making good money as it is.
Mundines next fight is against a former welterweight who has one of the most appalling resumes for a guy who has won 30 odd fights. He will never fight in america and will never again test himself agaist anyone who has even a slim chance of defeating him.
More like scared of fighting anyone with a pulse. Name me another world champion who has fought more pathetic opposition in the last 3 years. I challenge you. Apart from Geale, simply the most shocking list of bums you will ever find. Saddest thing is, he hasn't been able to register a KO against any of these tomato cans.
Anthony Mundine is scared of an opponent with a pulse, period. Should be ignored until he steps up and gets Ottke'd again.:verysad
I dont think a move to the US would work for him , as he would have to start over again , money wise he only sells in Oz , talent a little but is a very very poor mans roy jones. Lastly i dont think he knows at which weight to fight right now so making fights for him is tricky , best option , stay in Oz , fight bums and get paid.
even if he had the balls to go over there i realise he has missed the boat. he should have done it after the green fight. could have been lucrative for him. anyway he's an idiot, thats all that matters, lol.
I was chatting with someone that says Mundine's agent was seriously trying to get a Pavlik fight. Pavlik's folks were unaware of this. Doesn't mean it isn't true though. All of that stuff goes through Arum. But, no way Kelly goes to Australia to fight Mundine. He has the belts and, from what I'm told, really is a home town kid in his way of thinking.
I don't think Mundine has any intention or desire to test himself let alone visit the US. Behind all the bluster I think he's relatively content making decent money in Aus against sub-par opponents that have minimal chance of beating him. He's come up short a couple of times against top opposition so at this stage of his career he's probably happy to massage the bank account figures.
The majority of the folks buying tickets ANYWHERE aren't really all that boxing literate are they? People on this board keep forgetting this. My favorite example is Pac/Marquez. In the ring how much difference was there between them? And people think Arum is stupid.......:rofl
Spot on! Unfortunately it is now at the point that the some of the Aussie public buy the PPV to hopefully see him get beat. There was plenty of pressure for him to rematch Geale but Mundine is not interested in anything other than his bank account. The man was a fraud in his rugby career and continued with that theme with his boxing career.
Lets keep it real...i cant stand the guy either but calling him a fraud in his rugby career means one of two things - you either dont understand the game or dont know the difference between league and Union. The guy was a brilliant footballer - his only problem was that he was a game breaker - not a grinder. He would go missing for 65 minutes of an 80 minute game. He made ridiculous claims of racism keeping him from the Australian team when in reality there were two better players in his position. Fact - he was a brilliant footballer. Just inconsistent. Fact - he has great potential in any athletic pursuit - ego and unwillingness to test himself has prevented true greatness. Fact - he is a complete douche bag in front of the camera Fact - he is lovely in person Fact - of the five facts i have listed (included) - none of them are fact, they are all opinion, and you are entitled to yours
