Anthony Mundine v. Librado Andrade - who wins?

I agree with everything you said. But that doesn't solve the problem, in the end, for Mundine. Fighting like RJJ is great, if you hve his power to hurt too...Choc doesn't...not Andrade, anyway.

Even if Choc boxes Andrade's ears off for round after round after round, running around and keeping him off him, can he do it for 12 rounds? I'm not sure he can, mate...not Andrade, and not the way Mundine fights, like a cat. I think Andrade would win this war of attrition in the late rounds, after Mundine was leading by shut-out on the cards...

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Choc beat Andrade. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Andrade beat Choc either...this is closer than some people think, because of styles. Yeah, Choc is better overall, but Andrade's style is really bad for him. If I had to go with one or the other, I'd go with Andrade by stoppage in the late rounds, after attrition from bodyshots. It's not Choc's chin or defence that I worry about here, it's that workrate and the attritional damage it does, particularly to the body.

 

I don't think Andrade has a puncher's chance. He doesn't have the one-punch power to stop Choc, I think, realistically; not with Choc's, defence, anyway...

I think that if Choc doesn't get stopped, it won't be as close as that at all. I can see Choc doing enough to win the first 10 rounds, with a couple of close rounds included, but then, it all getting too much for him. Let's put it this way, I don't think Andrade can win without a stoppage, even fairly judged. His workrate and pressure either are too much for Choc, and Choc goes down, or they are no effective enough, in which case, I don't see why it has to be that close - Mundine wide decision.:think

 

hmm...it's not the defence that I worry about. It's the pressure. You can have the best defence in the world and still sucumb to pressure, if your style is not suited to it...

...my argument was not that Mundine's chin/defence/stamina/speed etc would let him down, but his style of fighting in bursts, catlike, not well off the backfoot, against relentless pressure from a guy you cannot hurt, who keeps coming hungrily forward, like a machine.

Well, I agree it looks unlikely, but frankly, if I were his manager, I'd tell him to go for Bute or Froch v. Inkin winner rather than Andrade.

Anyway...we can still discuss it, even if it won't happen.
