That's a pity. I bet on Green to knock Mundine down (as opposed to knock him out which would have also meant I had a winning bet). Damn annoying to hear that the ref got in the way of the outcome I was looking for
a page on twitter @boxingkingdom14 is going mad about how much of a robbery this was, was it the right result or not for those who watched it?
i watched a pretty crappy stream. looked pretty close, with mundine controlling the fight from the 6 round on and some what beating up on green
No sympathy for that terror-loving crybaby: he had the referee helping him out throughout the fight, and he still lost.
Glad Mundane and his dog fans are crying, but I can't help but point out the blatant balls up on the scorecard? The round Danny was deducted, the scorer gave him a 10-10 round. If it was scored correctly, it would likely have been a draw! CONTROVERSY!!! Check it out https://s27.postimg.org/94q2mxwsj/IMG_8497.jpg Unfortunately for us, that means that dog will be on the crying for days...
I thought Mundine won it close. Judge Morrow scored the 7th round 10-10, Green was deducted a point in that round. If he scores it 10-8 the fight would have been a draw.
Not sure I agree with that kiwi. I could defend a 9-10, but not a 10-10. That isn't justified when a round is that close. It's not like Green was battering him pillar to post... Hmm
I missed a lot of that round so won't comment there. But my point was simply that if the judge thought Green won the round (regardless of how close it was), the even round is the way it should be scored according to the 10 pt system. Whether it's a fair way to score a fight is a different matter, but we all know that boxing scores have lots of holes. E.g. a very close round is worth the same as a beating which doesn't quite justify a 10-8 round.
I dislike Mundine but just couldn't ever bring myself to want that ***** Green to win anything. He's a complete fraud and it aggravates me that he's managed to hoodwink so many people into thinking he's a multiple time world champion. As I said before, he might have the most deliberately misleading wiki page I've ever seen.
Oh don't get me wrong, I completely agree. However, if you apply the same logic to the first round when Mundine was docked, he should have been 10-10 too then? As he arguably won that round outside of the point deduction. I understand how the 10 point system works, but the 7th wasn't an even round. For arguements sake, Danny should still have won by 1 point with a 9-10 round anyway...so it means little in the long run.
About the first round, I thought Danny was winning until getting badly hurt. Then he was on the defensive as he had not fully recovered when it was restarted IMHO. I chose not to count that because Mundine's shot which started it all was illegal, but I fully understand your point of view.
