Rodríguez getting in some digs as he torpedoes in headfirst and scoops at the waistband of Mahoney with underhanded shots from both sides, but Mahoney is flurrying on him while skating by on his toes, and then working counter uppercuts on the face with his back against the ropes.

Rodríguez's corner essentially implying he needs a KO, telling him that he's likely down but mitigating the message with a soothing reassurance that he isn't doing badly, just..."you know, ten point must system" - which I think is the politest and most sensitive rendition of "you're blowing it, kid!" I think I have ever heard.

Rodríguez pressing in close, pinning Mahoney into the ropes, shouldering into his midsection, then flailing against him, flopping his upper body around like a beached fish while "slipping" Mahoney's frantic combos. This is messy as hell. Mahoney able to land better even when he is pinned on the ropes, just taking his time an extra moment and taking more careful aim.
