Clottey vs. Canelo was actually on the table at least twice, in 2011 and 2012.

I am a Clottey fan. I first saw him when he beat up an inflated Corrales. Puts his punches together well and has that shell defense.

    He got jobbed against Baldomir

I think Judah got cut in the 8th and they stopped it before the 9th. And about your grudge, I was very down after watching that fight, for a few weeks even. Something about the way he acted showed his spirit had been broken and it was all over for him. Not much later I woke up to the news he had died.

He almost pulled an Ike (fellow Ghanaian who on multiple occasions quit the sport in disgust after feeling the deck was stacked against him when he fought overseas) and sat out for seventeen months, second only to his twenty-month layoff after his self-imposed exile for bottling it with Pacquiao.

Joshua Clottey was never stopped before, so he needs to be very careful as THE MAN has a deep seated desire to humiliate tough men :verysad

So far THE MAN Mundine, humbled 5 proud fighters by stopping them for the first time :-(

    #1 Marc Bargero
    #2 Juarne Dowling
    #3 Ruben Acosta
    #4 Sam Soliman
    #5 Sugar Shane Mosley

Ike is another tough Ghanian + GOAT Jab, I am sorry as I feel Ike Quartey jab has to be acknowledged every time we mention his name

    :good

Although the Clottey jab honestly shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Quartey's. (nor should the jab of anyone living except maybe Larry Holmes)

Thanks IB, no disrespect to Clottey as he has that cool guard. If Clottey manages to hear the bell vs Mundine he gets in the elite Chin category. I have a feeling Mundine sadistically picked Clottey so he can be the first MAN to stop him :think

Clottey got stopped by a woman? :huh

Ah, so that's where he was in 2012. :-( The seedy underground inter-gender bare-knuckle circuit.

Only GOD knows what he was doing in 2012...

I think his choice of THE MAN nickname is a 1984 reference, it suites the sadistic intentions of Anthony Mundine :think

Lol wasnt an amazing fight its just Clottey walked through everything Judah threw and kept hitting the cut forcing Judah to say to the doctor he couldnt see basically quitting

Clottey was a big WW he could bully some people at the weight like Khan, Broner, Malignaggi

I think Clottey would have a chance of getting a TKO over all three, in descending order. (Khan most likely he walks down and hammers out, Broner 50-50 chance of beating up, Malignaggi he probably wouldn't stop but he could...)

That's only if we are talking a not just motivated but downright galvanized Clottey at his best, however.

If you read posts from around then, people were giving Clottey a major chance.
