Was always going to happen this fight. The biggets surprise is that it took this long to announce it. Taylor is washed up like a clam on a beach. And not the bikini clad clams.

 

I would rather Mundine fight one of those dwarfs that fought the other week then Shannon Taylor. Where is that clown Spidot who claimed that Mundine was P4P number 11 the other day ? Mundine just gets more laughable fight after fight after fight. If Mundine can't stop shot to **** Shannon Taylor within 5 rds he is completely finished himself.

 

Sorry guys but I think safe smart fight for Mundine.....reasons why....


1. Taylor in top 10 WBA with a regional belt
2. Mundine wil get good points from the WBA for that belt
3. Keeps Mundine number 1 contender
4. If AA VS Sturm comes off that gives Mundine shot at paper title
5. Mundine will win Taylor fight
6. Hold fight south of Sydney CBD lots of support for both fighters
7. Safe option in the WBA MW ranks to keep his spot

The only problem I have is its a bad tune up for a title fight.....but much better than a cab driver.

Lets face it he has to step up against the number 2 contender next year for the paper title

 

I think most posters realise all of your points, however it doesn't change our personal feelings on the fight.

Only positive is Mundine is at least fighting every 3 months instead of every 6 months like the real champs

 

Mundine's fights are invariably safe and smart. That's exactly what pi55es most people on this forum off! That and the I'll take on the world bs that he continually comes out with.

In Taylor's defence he's only lost to good opponents. But his last half dozen fights have been less challenging than Mundine's!

Please step up or shut up Anthony!

You make some good points however this is about Mundine's 6th tune up fight against soft opposition for someone who claims to be one of the very best around the middle/super middle divisions. This is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Mundine is getting older and older. He is 33 and a half yrs old and it is really looking like we will never see him fight A-level opposition again. Extremely disappointing for boxing fans in Australia.

We all know him as the mouth so why is anybody concerned about what he says and who he fights....we all know its marketing BS.

Mundine will fight another 5 or 6 chumps over the next 2 years while getting in 2 good fights for paper titles....get used to it.
