He makes a return to the tv tonite in celeb island with Bear Grylls. His boxing career is he retired ? Could he make a comeback and be successful ?
4 Ops ! Think hes done then, shame i thought he could have a reasonable career, i guess hes still a b list celeb so can probably make decent living from reality tv etc
Would of put more in to coming back from his injuries if he really wanted it imo (not the eye injury as can't do much about speed of that). Had a good amateur career so no shame if he doesn't return. Clearly can make more money in other avenues, so why bother returning to the ring if his heart isn't 100% into it - which I don't think it truely is.
Just seen a close up of him on that show, his eye is partially closed a bit so i guess what ever ops he had werent successful. Retirement is a wise move if thats the case
Chicken Legs Ogogo never looked suited to the professional ranks and his career was going nowhere fast even before the journeyman pumped him badly. He will be on all the reality shows soon enough
Can't blame him either for packing it in, but fúck the B-level celeb culture and throwaway consumer empty big brother culture in general.
He’s came across as a bit of a tit in the past but it’s still a shame that someone so young and talented should lose it all without reaching potential.
I think he reached his potential in the pro ranks - he was not that good but injuries may have been a big factor
A very amateur style for the pro-ranks. Far too upright and "point scoring". He almost lost his sight due to a Kell Brook style socket shattering. He is never going to risk entering the ring again. He can't officially announce his retirement though as it would effect his marketability.
Agreed, and best of luck to him if he can succeed in that field; it isn't him, or more so others that benefit, that I have an issue with, but the system of gutter culture 'reality' itself.
Yes he got beaten up all over the ring by a journeyman who achieved a Midlands Area Title. So we know Ogogo’s level as a professional based on that. He is clearly retired now and not coming back.
If ogogo had a poor camp and thought he would win anyway, it was a very costly mistake. It is a message to any fighter that boxing is a serious sport. Eggington was another example at the weekend. He could have been killed taking punches like that with his hands down. It happens a lot fighters turning up unprepared and ogogo has lost out on potentially millions because of it.
