If Povetkin saves Britain from HearnJ I'll sponsor some Russian orphans who have checked their privilege too much.

The good news is he's probably more durable than Vlad and more comfortable exchanging.
The bad news is again all the advantages are with the enemy and the enemy's promotion and we saw what just happened with that arrangement, it's painful to watch. Very similar in regards to the serious age advantages and home arena/judging particularly.

First thoughts, AJ in his prime, way bigger than povetkin and hits harder possibly ,while povetkin is coming to the end of his career and got buzzed big time against pricey.

I think most casuals think this will be an easy nights work for AJ but I don’t see it that way at all. I like the fact that povetkin fights a similar style to those that stopped AJ in the amateurs compact and explosive and this is what intrigues me about this one.

I’ll go for AJ late stoppage but I can see both men getting dropped before then at some point

Also AJ looks very trim in training is McCracken’s game plan for AJ to get on his bike for a lot of this fight and nip a few more rounds than povetkin? Maybe

It’s a shame the wilder/fury circus has taken something away from this one. I’m in Munich for work fight night so I’ll be watching it with those locals and it’ll be Oktoberfest plus I have to work the next morning

Povetkin, although past his prime, is a durable and tough fighter with boatloads of experience who packs a good punch, looks to have whipped himself into a great physical shape as well. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain. If Joshua wont try to jab and grab then this is going to be a proper war! Sadly I think jab and grab is exactly what Joshua is going to do :(

Joshua by a boring and dirty UD

If Joshua loses i don't think it will be because he is looking past the fight - he seems petrified of losing.

I actually think his fear of losing could affect his ability to perform properly. Like some sort of paralysis.

I have gone for AJ by points.

Its a faith in Sasha pick. There's absolutely zero evidence Joshua hits harder than Wlad or Price (early). Sasha while rocked here and there by both, he took them well, his head movement is good enough to take the steam off of most of AJ's punches to begin with, but... we can't be sure how well AJ will take one of his. Especially if Povetkin turns up in the best shape of his life and forces the pace. Sure Povetkin looked average against Rudenko and Hammer, but Rudenko has yet to be stopped, not even Lucas Browne could do the job and he stopped Chagaev, Hammer he probably didn't take seriously in the least, and figure he could wing that one... but there's no way Sasha isn't taking this one seriously and training his heart out for. Povetkin will show up fit and ready to lay hands on AJ.

This is ALEXANDER POVETKIN, people need to remember that. Oh... but he looked bad against Price, yeah... fine, but Price also needed oxygen after he got knocked the **** out.

Povetkin has already KO'd Takam more impressively than AJ, because he actually KO'd him. Had Povetkin fought the Wlad that fought Fury and Jennings, with a more stringent ref, who knows what would have happened.

    As for the rest.

    Charles Martin
    Joseph Parker
    Dillian Whyte
    Dominic Breazeale
    Eric Molina

Which one would be a prohibitive favorite over Sasha... really?

AJ by KO late into the fight.

I think AJ will stay behind the jab and bank some early rounds hoping to slow Povetkin down by catching him early. If Joshua establishes a points advantage Sasha will force the fight but I think he'll take too much punishment doing so and get stopped. A few hairy moments for AJ along the way however. I think this could be a tougher fight than Wilder could give him. Maybe the toughest he'll ever face.

Tough fight for AJ. I rate Pov the most skilled boxer in the division, but he´s kinda small and 39 yo. It all depends on AJs ability to dictate range, if Pov gets to mid/close range there will be some scary moments for AJ fans.. I still got AJ by UD.
