The main whiff of hope for Povetkin is AJ's vow to bring back his seek-and-destroy style which Wlad seemed to have punched out of him. He could have stuck to his aggressive style against Takam and Parker with very little concern about what he was opening himself up to, but chose caution.

There's been a mini backlash - ticket sales have slowed for this one - and it seems that's spiked him to prove he's still a beast. Of the three fights since Wlad, Povetkin is the wrong choice to go looking for a KO. He could easily jab and grab his way to a comfortable points win, after all Wlad showed the way, and against a younger, fresher Sasha.

It could end up being the case he boxed against Parker the way he should against Povetkin and vice versa. There's a chink of light here, albeit a faint one...

    Joshua is a 1/19 favorite, Povetkin a 7/1 dog.

4/7 on the under 9.5 is a much smarter bet than either.

Probably AJ on points, hoping for Pov by KO

Interesting...you are pretty fervently pro-Wilder, as I recall? So if all the HW marbles came down to him and Joshua, who's your rooting interest?

    The upset is on.

Povetkin submits AJ as an entry in the world planking championships during the middle rounds.

Listened to Buncey's Joshua interview. He sounds totally bored and unmotivated with boxing. Can't see him hanging around too long after the April fight

Joshua by stoppage I think Povetkin is easy to hit with the right and marks easily.

Bivol is in England for the fight to support his countrymen and stablemates Povetkin and Kuzmin

:risas3: The interviewer is a Brummie (someone from the city Birmingham) and he has a Brummie accent which can be difficult to understand sometimes even for other Brits, let alone a Russian who is still learning English lol

I haven't seen the interview because he bores me to tears listening to the robot mumble through about staying humble.

But by chance I came across one on my feed last week, where he was trying to explain away his ducking and he was talking about how he has achieved everything he is set out to do and has proved he's the best HW(this after fighting mainly bums)

Didn't sound like someone who was still hungry.

Like that trainer in rocky use to say, he got civilized.

I can imagine Mccracken having these same words with AJ about Wilder
