Dubois's still very young ( career-wise) for a heavyweight. But in his last 3 fights, which includes tonight, he's starting to shine now. And not all men ( not just fighters) gain their full confidence and self ability belief early on in life. I think Daniel comes into that category.

There's something of an air of innocent naivety with Daniel that's starting to clear now, i think.

    Time will tell.

As any other poster has already said, AJ shouldnt have tried to look for the quick end. He should have tried to dominate the fight bit by bit, but he didnt want it.

Eating a monstruous punch and being about to be lights out is not "baiting". The same way it was not "baiting" when he was rocked in the previous round and started to go back trying too cool things off because he was about to get burnt.

Wonderful fight by Dubois. But I still think that AJ is the better fighter, as I said. The only chance I gave to Dubois was exactly what has happened.

If there is a rematch we will see how much luck had to do with this fight.

Needs to be made. AJ vs. Fury too. Let's have as few Bowe-Lewis fights as possible for this generation, even if they come way too late. Better than wondering what could have been!

roudns 2 3 and 4 should have never happened. The fight should have been stopped before. The referee is a *******.

Dominating a standing KO oponent is not something to brag about. The whole merit of Dubois was round 1 and until the second time Aj is dropped.

That perfect punch in the first round has always a component of luck. Too good too early. That's not something that can be replicated at will.

Yeah, I actually tend to love fights between equally shot old fighters who still have a big punch but no chin.

Just got a chance to watch it (well, highlights). Dammmmnit, it actually looked like AJ could have started to potentially turn the tide a bit, he was gaining in confidence for some reason lol, was starting to feel the fight I think, landed a peach of a jab and then stuns DD with the right hand, but AJ lost all his tactfulness and started acting like he wanted a dogfight, and when he hurt DD he pursued too hard and right into the damn counter.

Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose, if a fighter is too patient and the opponent regroups, then they get shtick for letting guys off the hook, if they follow up and get caught then they get shtick for being reckless.

Still though, he was starting to land some shots and I think he should have just kept feeling the rhythm of the fight and find his shots in between DDs offense and maybe could have mounted some sort of comeback (or not lol).

    Excellent job by DD.

DD vs Parker, Bakole or Zhang are banger fights.

If he doesnt retire, then AJ vs Miller, Wilder, and Fury are still big fights, imo.

The referee should be put in jail, btw. He has taken a lot from AJ (in terms of health). AJ will never be the same again. Not that he was anything worthy, but whatever he was you can be sure that he will never be the same anymore after this fight.

It is not worth paying such a high price for a fight that was 100% lost after AJ was dropped for the second time (if not for the first time).

Blame Davison as well he was on the apron with the towel a couple rounds before the fight was stopped ready to throw it in and didn't.

Against a shot to bits mentally fragile ageing fighter it was always going to happen.
AJ was terrified of DDD before the bell even rang, the sparring was already on his mind and he knew what was coming.
He had no answer to a young Hungary fighter coming out and sticking it straight on him.
He is probably more mentally shot than physically but since Ruiz 1 5 years ago he has had zero heart.
his physical attributes have got him through against 40+ year olds former sparring partners that he has KO'd in sparring and MMA guys with hardly any experience at all but against someone that wanted to hit him and KO him he always caves in....... Usyk schooled him twice and DDD iced him when in the fire he just carn't put it out.
