He should have left McCracken many years ago. McCracken does not improve guys technically.

I feel that way about a potential AJ-Whyte bout. I wouldn't get off the couch to change the channel like we had to do in the old days. Hell I wouldn't put in the effort to change the remote button.

But he hasn't improved technically since he left cracken. Froch stayed with Rob after loses and bad performances, look where he ended up, the hall of fame

    No, Makzy.

Your thoughts and impressions are not what makes someone "the man."

For most of 20017 and 2018, Fury was on a two year bender, not honouring his rematch clause with Klitschko and generally not being relevant to boxing rankings.

RING had Joshua as top dog from when he beat Klitschko until he lost to Ruiz.

And Transnational Boxing Rankings had Joshua as 'the man' for most of that period as well.

Your post indicating that you thought he would be coming back was speculative, and as it turns out, prescient, but not relevant as to who was the top dog in the division.

When Ali lost to Frazier in 1971 (FOTC), I believed he would be back on top, and I was correct.

But from March 1971 till October 1974, Ali was NOT "the man" at HW.

And while Fury was in his cocaine-and- booze fuelled downward spiral after the Klitschko fight, he was NOT "the man" at HW.

BTW, While I was briefly looking into the archives at TBR for this post, I noticed something strange on that site.

In the IN MEMORIAM section there were features on Joe Rein, Eddie dutch, Greg Page, Bob Foster, Muhammad Ali, and Marvin Hagler and...Floyd Mayweather !

All of them boys are dead...except for Floyd.

I had to google Floyd to make sure he was still above ground, and apparently, he is.

Anybody know why he would be featured in an IM MEMORIAM ?

Yes, generally some combination of hubris coupled with general ignorance are to blame. In your case can also be added denialism and a below average iq. Now go away.

He has yesterday for instance he displayed the best jabbing I have ever seen from him. Froch was not winning fights due to his technical ability rather he was winning due to his grit and toughness.

McCracken took a then rank novice AJ to Olympic gold albeit undeserved, World Amateur silver, and as a pro a IBF, WBA & WBO unified champion in just 19 fights

    A 2 x one in 23 fights

Spence didn't even win a world tittle until his 22nd fight and Jermello didn't win one till his 28th fight

McCracken was a much better fighter than James too

He is not getting better Olu. He's more stiff and wooden than ever. Absolutely robotic. Yet again you delude yourself just like that time you said aj would ko Usyk in the rematch.

You're right and all the new trainers haven't done anything to improve Joshua. But I also think Joshua had plateaued with McCracken, he'd gone as far as he could with McCracken and Joshua had to try something different as McCracken didn't have a plan to beat Usyk.

But in hindsight maybe staying with McCracken would have been better, the Joshua we just saw is the worst version of Joshua we have seen since he was a novice. As limited as McCracken was he was good and getting his fighters to maintain their fundamentals and against DDD they seemed to have been thrown away for dumb lean back moves with his hands down.

I thought Joshua looked really good in the Usyk rematch and I still maintain that it´s the best I have ever seen him. This was him under Robert Garcia.
They had an excellent gameplan and Usyk had to dig really deep that night.
