It's actually a great fight. One of the best opportunities Sugar Robert Helenius will get in his career, he's still motivated and will put everything on the line. Hearn desperately wants Joshua to get a nice KO after a long time to restore some hype, against an opponent Wilder just beat. Joshua also personally wants to punish Helenius for staring at him in the faceoff. I'm going with SRH by a shocking 2nd round KO.

Squeaky wheels get the grease. There are plenty of moderate dossers on there, but one does need to have not ever been a complete and utter tit in a conspicuous way and put yourself in my or CST's bad graces. :sisi1

Just had a quick skim through your recent post history, and you seem enough of a non-tit for me. @CST80?

That's absolutely supported by the bookies:

    Fisher -2000
    Chisora -650
    Hrgović -800
    Joshua -1800

Still, part of me is optimistic that some weird ass fluky thing might happen, with AJ getting a cut over his eye, or rolling his ankle or something and being left vulnerable to a big kibosh he doesn't see coming. My head would hit the goddamn ceiling.

Yeah, beyond some crazy fluke It's just hard to have much faith in Helenius now. If he had given at least a decent account of himself against Wilder It would be easier to perform a bit of mental gymnastics and convince oneself that an upset is at least a remote possibility here. But it's looking like his brief Indian summer was in 2020/2021 against Kownacki. Maybe if the pandemic didn't hit and he didn't waste 2 years with that/rematching Kownacki before sitting out for another year and then squaring off with Wilder he could have had chance in 2020 with a big fight like this. a very remote chance, but a chance nonetheless. He does look in better shape than he was against Wilder though, I'll give him that.

tbf Robbe may have been psyched out against Wilder the same way Tyson opponents used to be. Wilder still, even after Fury exposed him thrice over, carries a bit of that huge one punch KO power mystique. Joshua doesn't. He's a big powerful athletic guy with a high stoppage rate yes, but he isn't as scary as Wilder, if you're in the other corner.

Hopefully that unruffled calm confidence that Helenius exuded at the weigh-in carries over and he doesn't let the bright lights of the O2 affect him or Joshua being such a prohibitive fave get in his head.

How bloody soft has the world gotten? :dunno

"The following program is recommended for those 16 and over because it contains sporting violence and flashing lights".

Wtf?? I watched both Terminator movies and the first Predator while still in single digits.

How long have they been putting that milquetoast disclaimer?

Sloppy start, frantic flurries both ways, Ruegg the physically stronger and driving Courtney into retreat pretty much the whole two minutes.

After this, on the YouTube prelims will be:

    • George Liddard vs. Bas Oosterweghel, 6 rounds @ middleweight
    • Brandon James Scott vs. Louis Norman, 6 rounds @ featherweight

Then on the main card DAZN broadcast:

    1. Campbell Hatton vs. Tom Ansell, 8 rounds @ super lightweight
    2. John Fisher vs. Harry Armstrong, 10 rounds @ heavyweight
    3. Derek Chisora vs. Gerald Marcus Washington, 10 rounds @ heavyweight
    4. Filip Hrgović vs. Demsey McKean, 12 rounds @ heavyweight
    5. Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua vs. Robert Gabriel Helenius, 12 rounds @ heavyweight
Total of 44 rounds of HW boxing scheduled, but if we put bets down I'd lay a fair sum on getting only half that many completed rounds (22).

I've got it 2-1 Ruegg. (carrying the 1st and 3rd on aggression)

Commentators are bending over backwards to play up all Courtney's work, reckon she is "supposed" to win.

Quick check on BoxRec, aye, she's 3-0 and Ruegg is 7-7.

Courtney stuck the jab well on the backfoot, very accurate. Ruegg throwing home run pitches but for naught.

    Two apiece.
