I just watched This Isquierdo against Casal, He's only 5'5" but stocky, he's quick with his hands & feet, busy & aggressive fighter, Looks like a Good Chin, Weak defense on the attack, reminds me of a Bigger Agapito Sanchez. In the same DVD I recorded, I watched A Peterson agaisnt Garza, Garza's record is Padded, he looks like a bum there, very slow, Koed in the 4th. Peterson looks slow too compare to Esquierdo. But he's taller & Longer & more accurate puncher. This is a good test for Anthony. I can see Isquierdo Hurting Anthony by straight punches down the middle but Anthony will counter accurately with hooks to the smaller guy. Isquierdo is tough, I see him winning 3-4 rds but still lose by UD.
I recall watching that fight live, PacD. Wasn't the Cuban buzzed by Casal in the first round. I remember him not having his legs under him but he fought it off very well. He was nice dog money in that bout.
PEterson was born ready with an A game and Antonio should be very worried right now. All the top contenders and title holders need to fear the wrath of Peterson.
Peterson is slow? I think you're out of your damn mind! You say you have the Garza fight on dvd.. I highly suggest you watch it again (with your glasses on this time perhaps) Watch again the combination that he knocks Garza out with. Right hook to the body, then comes the double left hook, once to the body, then the head, and finally a right to the head that finally put him down (even though the left hook to the body was the real blow that damaged Garza) That's why I see a young Shane Mosley in him. His combination punching is outstanding. He knows how to mix it up too. Head and body shots.. That double left hook he throws is as fast as it gets.
No I haven't. But Peterson's handspeed is hard to top. I doubt a second rate boxer like Izquierdo can throw combinations as fast as some of the nasty ones Peterson nailed Garza with. We'll see tomorrow night I guess... Everone else that has seen Izqueirdo said he's a KO artist, not exactly a guy who's gonna blaze you with handspeed...
