yeh the racism shined through when he bothered to go to Iraq during the gulf war and got the WHITE hostages released.

Ali was influenced by an organisation with a racist (against whites) belief, but when he left that group he also left behind their anti white ideology. ( although given the treatment of blacks in parts of the USA at that time you could understand why they would having something against whitey)

Ali was a great person but you can't possibly deny he wasn't racist. In his day he had a strong hate towards white people.

protest the government all you want but he did this at a soldiers homecoming parade....if it weren't for the old bill he'd have been ripped to pieces.

    nice log in btw..

Surely that was the exact right time and place to make a protest of this nature?

these aren't just anti-war protesters mate...these are islamic fascists working to their own agenda.

ie - these are the exact sort of people we are fighting against in Afghanistan.

i was on a wind up with the 1690 thing but as you're obviously of irish heritage all i'll say is don't equate this conflict with the Ulster thing...they're very different situations.

I know, I took that with a pinch of salt!

I am genuinely not trying to be antagonistic about this, I just fail to see what is wrong in what he said or did. I didn't see any evidence of anything extreme in his views. I do see a bit of a failure to grasp the situation fully, but that doesn't make him wrong either.

I do appreciate its a sensitive situation and I appreciate that many of these kids for whom this parade was held would be from a largely working class background and used the army as a career and a mans to bettering themselves and getting opportunities that otherwise they might not have had. I think Small failed to recognise that. I also appreciate the gratitude of the British people towards guys who are posted to here, there and everywhere in their name.

But I don't understand what is wrong with the content of his message. The British army is embroiled in a war that they probably shouldn't be and innocents are dying. Including over 300 kids from council estates all across Britain for no good reason. If people disagree with that, then that is ok. that is their right. I just think some responses are OTT.

I hope that is met in the spirit in which it intended. The Sun article on the subject called into question his mental state? That is just gutter stuff and unfortunately folk fall for it all the time.

What he said and did was insensitve. Small's entitled to his opinion but theres a time and a place for that. As for the Sun its not even good enough to wipe your ass with. I wouldnt pay much attention to that rabble rousing pile of junk.

What better time and place to make such a protest?

What exactly was insensitive? I don't understand that.

I wonder if Small was ever taken hostage by a paramilitary group or whoever in the UK he would be lobbying his hatred towards the SAS when they were sent in to save him.

    Total **** of a man.

As for his Ali comments, fair enough, however Small ain't dodging the draft and saying that white men are all blue eyed devils and basically being a racist.
