    :shakehead:

Still among the weakest recent gold medalists transitioning into the pros, IMO, down there with Zou Shiming.

Dismantling an unskilled tree sloth like Duhaupas impresses me not.

 Yoka got a warning less than 30 seconds into the fight. FFS!
And Duhaupas looked pretty mean and ready at the opening bell. I think he just doesn´t have it anymore. Inactivity at his age likely played a big factor in this outcome.

Did he really ever 'have it'?

Sadly, at this point he has done more that my boy Robson Conceicao . No ****ing idea what they are doing with his career.
Well, kinda. He beat Charr and gave Wilder a though fight. Made Wilder look really bad and beat him up quite a bit.
But he is definitely someone like Yoka, a damn gold medalist, should beat with ease.

At the very least, Duhaupas was though as hell.

And boy did Wilder regress as a boxer. Look at him actually throw a decent left hook and work the body. Where did all that go? Man, this was the period where he seemed to get better and better as his fights got tougher.

...eh, those are his claims to fame, I know - but...Diamond Boy sucks, and Wilder is the kind of champ who can let very average challengers outbox him for most of the night and then land the big difference-maker, as we know. Had it lasted another two rounds and Duhaupas gotten the miracle uspet on points, he'd rank as the weakest HW titlist since ...hell, a long time ago (weaker than Stiverne)

Oh absolutely, no debate there. He just was really though for a while. But it seems like age caught up to him.
Had Yoka blasted a younger Duhaupas, I would be somewhat impressed, but nah. Looked like he beat up an overmatched old man.

    You "missed" the "fight", yeah.

And yes he got a one year doping ban in early 2018 but has been done serving it for well over a year now.

Takam would probably still be able to potentially go 12 rounds against most of the HW titlists when he's like 60.

Optics man. That's as unimpressive a 1st round blow out from a so-called top prospect that I can recall. That might seem harsh to some but that was very crude and Duhaupas looked very fragile in there. Of course Yokas stock doesn't take a hit here and probably goes up but to most astute eyes it was not an awe inspiring performance.

I'm not sure a motivated Kyotaro wouldn't have blown out this Duhaupas. :sisi1

Takam appears to be getting more love now on boards. Seems his skill, gameness and willing to fight all comers - anywhere, anyplace, anytime has become hard to ignore. I think Takam at his peak who ran the gauntlet of Perez, Thompson and Povetkin would sleep Yoka. Even today while I wouldn't be optimistic would not rule him out. Yoka has not impressed thus far.
