I'm not a hater I think he has talent and I'm in the opinion that Averlant was a good durable opponent that gave Yarde rounds and exposed certain china's in his armour in a way that wasn't to negative I.e he was a 175 Malignaggi in terms of power.

However whether we like it or not he is ranked by the organisations and if he was to fight for a title in the next 12 months imo he will get blown away by all the champs and top contenders. He needs a Buglioni or Burton type test and then move him up to fringe world class.

But I stand by my statement regarding his tiny head, he looks like the guy out of beetle juice.

Yarde goes in with european level non punchers more often than not smw , it means he can just keep coming forward and doesn't worry about whats coming back a genuine lhw with even moderate skill and power is a long night for Yarde he's so easy to counter and personally i don't even think his power is world class at world level, speed average , timing hit and miss and telegraphs a large percentage of his shots.

His pro record is an eye-opener: tonight was Barrett's first big step up in class.

It's clear to see why Barrett has been moved along so slowly now.

Yarde needs to abandon that ridiculous shoulder-roll defence (not entirely sure you can call it a defence). He is so ridiculously open to right hands that if he ever does reach world level and challenges for a title (which I'm not sure he does), then I can see the likes of Kovalev or Bivol knocking his head off his shoulders with ease. The top guys in this division are still a couple of levels above Yarde.

He even said he was disappointed with himself, he said he is learning on the go and he will take longer because of his lack of amateur experience. Not sure why your acting like he was saying he is ready for Kovalev next.

Like I said there’s a lot of improvements to be made but if he gets these types of fights in it can only help him.

This is pretty much how Eddie has been matching Conor Benn.

As N17 said a little while ago after one Conor Benn fight: When you have a touted prospect who is being fed opponents who have no KO's -- or even one or two KO's -- it does make you wonder if the promoter has doubts about the punch resistance of said prospect.

Yade is a British level prospect whose learning on the job and is in no rush to go anywhere. He's not even top British level never mind world level. People expect to much from him and are hating for no reason. He's good to watch and win or lose come top level he'll surly deliver good fights.

He has some flaws like cutting off the ring but Haye wasn't a good ring cutter either and he did alright. One thing you can say for sure about him is that the power is dangerous and the left hook to the body is a killer.
The Brugloni match-up is a great fight and Franks come forward style feeds into Yarde's strengths so that result is a toss up.
Lets see how that fight pans out before putting him up there with the likes of Kovalev etc

I can see Buglioni having a decent shot at Yarde as he's just not that fluid and too open for me.

Nathan Gorman has quick hands and good movement and a good engine for a guy his size, and an extremely fast and accurate left hook -- especially when going to the body with it.

I honestly don't think Warren will put Dubois in with Gorman any time soon.

I think Dubois will beat Gorman, I know looks aren’t everything and guys like Witherspoon and Fury have shown skills can offset physique but Gorman looks too out of shape for me. If he can shed some pounds he has a chance.

Frank is a very cautious matchmaker so i think your right.

If you're winging it and learning on the job fighting a carefully selected bum with no power, then you don't act like a diva making people wait longer for you to come out.

To then make a big grand entrance as if you're headlining Wembley stadium arena, whilst making a show of walking into the ring as if you're about about to fight prime Mike Tyson for a unification championship bout.

If anything, the current Kovalev is a greatly-improved version physically and -- crucially -- mentally. He went on a spiritual pilgrimage to a monastery in Greece, the results of which include a renewed focus and an improved outlook on life, a being dedicated to training thoroughly and remaining disciplined in his diet, even to the point of abstaining from alcohol:

https://www.si.com/boxing/2017/11/21/sergey-kovalev-vyacheslav-shabranskyy-light-heavyweights

Anthony Yarde, with his flat-footedness, defensive deficiencies and propensity to leaving himself open, wouldn't last two full rounds with this focused and rededicated Sergey Kovalev.

The French dude was a game journeyman with a 13% ko percentage and he showed up Yarde's faults.
