Shockingly poor resume Lyndon Arthur is his best win ffs! Apart from domestic level Lyndon Arthur, who the hell has he beat?
Frank Warren has a history of leading his fighters to a world title shot via the path of least resistance, but he has massively took the **** with Yarde.
Tis feels like Yarde's doing tbh. I can imagine him turning down many fight that could have helped him build. His resume is an absolute embarrassment tbh, especially considering how highly regarded he is.
One of the most frustrating fighters of the last 10 years. Has ability, good dig, picks his punches well, decent timing but he's only beaten fighters of a certain level. He's never had a middle ground and never fought former titleists. Journeyman vets who still have something to offer. It's always lower-tier fighters and then jump in with the top dogs with totally predictable results. Weird career progression.
His best win is probably Sjekloca, who went the distance with Abraham and Callum Smith. Other than that Lyndon Arthur is probably his only other notable win. I almost want Yarde to retire without actually beating an opponent close to world level; it would make for such a strange and unique career trajectory, definitely one for the trivia books.
Yarde has in his 9 year as a professional faced Kovalev and Beterbiev. The absolute international elite of the division. Meanwhile during that time period Joshua Buatsi’s best opponent is either Craig Richard’s or Dan Azeez. Domestic level. It’s not only about your best wins. It’s also about whether you have a big mouth and back it up, or you are really just full of it and don’t follow through. The real question when I look at the LHW scene in the UK, is will Joshua Buatsi ever step up? We know Yarde will and we know Yarde can compete at that level.
