i've seen him sparring twice...both times i wasn't impressed as he looked slow and lethargic in 16 ozs. i was wondering if he had sore muscles bc of how slow he looked, too much muscle mass. one of his sparring partners was tall and he didn't have any problems matching yarde in the sense i couldn't see any real edge in raw talent between the two. yarde would bob and weave or do the rope dope while the tall dude would just step back with straight long punches that landed, simple even so, his sparring partners are even bigger bums than his live opponents. some of them were green as ****. bc he has watched all of floyd mayweather fights in slow motion, he has perfected the cutie style which is more prevalent in the US than the UK. so people get hyped up, same as larry "naturally lazy" edundayo... but in the US, every other fighter knows how to box going backwards with flash but that is just one style of many and not necessarily an indication of how far the fighter can go.....stylistically, a guy like buatsi will break that mayweather rythym and only then will we see if he can adapt in strategy or one dimensional fighter who relies on his template tool box however, i can see him having a career path like david haye who i think is a huge bum. in boxing these days, u don't have to be truly good to make a lot of money...all you need is to talk **** and have a twitt3r account
He'll get found out for his weakness which he has in abundance,im sure frank will not want another amir khan picking situation, remember Khan v Prescott and exposed his chin and defence to the world? He wont do the same thing with yarde.Better to be safe than sorry.
I wouldn't necessarily blame Yarde. The guy is extremely inexperienced. I can see why he is being matched against bums this early in his career, his promoter is know for doing this. Personally I think he would learn more if the fights weren't so easy but his promoter obviously wants him to look like a monster to the casuals not look vulnerable against good opponents.
Nobody would be criticising him if he took the Burton fight, which seems exactly the sort of set-up that he needs at this stage of his career and would also put him in position for a shot at the guy he really wants - Buglioni. This whole "I'm above" that level that his camp are spouting is nonsense. Kovalev has just been announced to fight for the WBO title, if they think Yarde is anywhere near close to that level or a Sullivan Barrera type they are hugely mistaken.
It's the most obvious thing in the world that Warren is playing the long game with the sole objective of at least one Yarde PPV. He's a cool looking guy with power (Yarde, not Warren). They just need to maintain that image until he is in 'position' for a PPV fight. If he was goofy looking and had less power, then they would be more inclined to find him fights that would improve him as a boxer. What a novel approach that would be...
Has the WBO announcement happened anywhere else other then your imagination? The only thing I can see is that Kathy Duva has requested it. I understand it may well be sanctioned but you seem to be jumping the gun. As for this Burton nonsense, we've debated this before but you & many others seem to be brainwashed by fast Eddie Hearn. The whole thing is nonsense- Burton has even Said himself he wouldn't fight Callum Johnson for the title if he beats Buglioni so what kind of eliminator would it have been? Frank was not willing to involve his kid in Eddie Hearn and Gallaghers game that's it...Hearn just wanted to use Burton as a pawn to get to Yarde- Hosea has zero commercial value to him.
doesnt matter what Burton says hes going to if Johnson wins, if Yarde & Burton fought each other and Yarde won, it would be irrelevant as Yarde would have the title shot. its got nothing to with brainwashed by Hearn as even his biggest detractors have said the same, Yarde (or more likely, Warren) has ducked Burton. its that simple.
