That's mad how he started off with "Some people who aren't the brightest"

I think he was heading towards taking about Buatsi when he made that comment and then quickly swerved to "Some people who aren't the brightest... who advise these fighters."

Its no big secret tbh, 5 years ago Matchroom was the biggest name in the UK by a long shot and tbh a lot of competition was lucky to survive. So MR was the only name in town for the British boxers who had the ability to become household names (bar 1 or 2 exceptions), now MR have of course realised that being 1 of the 5 biggest names in global boxing os more profitable than being the biggest name in UK boxing.

So 5 years ago they would of been forced to work and build a prospect sell him to the public to make a lot of cash but now they have a platform where they can work with the top world (in a talent and appeal basis) level boxers on a free agent basis (Garcia, Canelo, Tank, Golovkin etc) that they arent forced to work with British boxers and build there careers. Maybe 5 years ago they would of paid Buatsi over the odds to keep him now they can say ok good luck elsewhere and it doesnt hurt them that much.

Hearns success was tied to Joshua. Anthony Joshua becoming the biggest name in boxing catapulted Hearn into being the biggest promoter in boxing. Now that Joshua has faded into the peripherals of the sport he's dragged Eddie down with him and its not like he's got Bellew or Whyte to fall back on anymore.

He also seems to have burned bridges with basically every other promoter which will come back to bite him on the ass now as he'll need them. Goes to show, you should always be nice to people on the way up because you might need their help on the way back down.

Yeah i mean i wonder how he will console himself now that he cant promote Whyte or Bellew as back-up for AJ (who to be hoenst hasnt sold out the O2 but will still attract viewers) and has to fall back on Canelo Alvarez, Golovkin, Bivol etc.

I hope the poor bloke can keep the heating on this week.

There is nothing unique about Eddie Hearn. He is handsome and good at talking.

Unlike almost all other promoters, he does not cheat the boxers and he always pays on time.

The head on the nail ! The people you meet on the way up, you meet them all on the way down.

I meant unique about him treating boxers like meat, you’ve said on here all promoters do the same thing.

Joshua's meteoric rise was tied to Hearn too. Most people seem to think AJ is/was overhyped, if so Eddie has done a brilliant job for him, it works both ways.

Eddie has aged and with aging, everyone changes, some for the better, some for the worse.

Personally, I think deep down that he has the hump with himself as he has now realised that SKY is still ahead of DAZN in mass market appeal, with a younger NKOTB at the helm, and this is gnawing away at him, he has goofed up but cannot bring himself, publicly at least when he looks in the mirror, to admit so.

When AJ retires, then we will see the real Eddie Hearn implosion. Putting all of his eggs into one Conor Benn basket won't end well...

I stand by what I have written before : Eddie Hearn is like all other boxing promoters. There is no difference.

Yes we all understand this and sadly with some promoters that is the game, however he needs to stop this holier than thou ‘he’s one of my best mates’ stuff he spouts about any boxer who can sell a ticket.

Will be interesting to see how long he stays with Campbell Soup Hatton, who can prob sell tickets off the back of his Dads amazing popularity, but sadly is not going to make it to any sort of decent level.

Behave, none of us hate him, he has done a great job over the last decade. He has def changed his attitude though and lacks empathy towards some of his stable of boxers which he didn’t used to.

I think the only difference is, he’s a better accountant than his competition. Like his Dad was too.

Credit where credits due though, he has been good for our game especially when he started getting a decent stable together. Great passion and Fight Camp was a good proactive move during Covid.
