If that's your appetiser I really hope your main isn't a letdown. I might watch a crap fight so I'm not disappointed. I'm thinking Mayweather v Baldomir. No, no how could I forget Klitshcko v Ibragimov.
I'm so stoked for this fight; normally i'm really amped for a few days before a fight but i've been so busy lately and all day that it's hitting me all now. I'm trying to work out start times and streams now so i'm not panicking later.
I'm really up for this one. Only wish the underbill was a bit better. I always like one or two decent fights as a warm-up to a big event, just to gee me up even more. Ah well, can't have everything I suppose. This fight should be an absolute belter:thumbsup
This is the sort of buzz we all feel when two very good fighters are in there in a 50/50 fight. I think people are counting Kessler out prematurelly. If you're basing your pick on that Ward fight then you're sadly mistaken (just like those that based Pavlik/Martinez on Sergio's fight with Williams) Ward did a lot of crafty stuff such as blind fold Kessler with his lead hand, smothered the Danes work especially his bread and butter punches, charged in with his head etc. Froch is not as crafty or fast, he's predictable, sloppy with his jab and creates a lot of opportunity for Mikkel to get his punches off. I pick on styles and circumstances, Kessler definitely has the style advantage, he'll see Carl's punches coming, control from long range with the jab and Froch will be there for all his straight shots. Froch though has the advantage mentally at this point in their respective careers. A couple of years ago Kessler would've been a lock pick IMO. But there's so many imponderables at this point...is he slightly passed it? Kessler seems fragile to me and could fold up against someone has determined and gutsy as Frochy. To me Kessler is the better all round fighter especially from a technical point. He throws better short/long crisper punches, better jab, better variety. Froch throws overwhelming style punches and telegraphs them. This is so difficult to call, its just a matter of which advantage outweighs the other...Kesslers technical/style advantage or Carl's mental edge and relative freshness. I'm going for kessler to have enough in his locker to control Froch on the outside, punch inbetween his punches and grind out a decision.
I am the opposite. I have been thinking Kessler will win this for the past couple of weeks and now I just think Froch will have too much for him. I cant wait for this - it is going to be a war. *If it goes to points - I just hope that it is a fair decision, plus hope the ref does his ****in job right too.
Time's dragging now. Me and the missus are somehow watching The Whole 19 Yards on ITV1, another crappy quiz show. Does anyone think that Kessler has the engine for a war over 12 rounds? Say if it turned out like the Pascal fight.
