My fights tomorrow. What stuff do you do to deal with anticipation and nervousness. As you may have guessed i'm really freaking anxious and can't concentrate.
Try to spend some time alone and just focus on breathing and relaxing. Keep in mind that your opponent is just as nervous as you are. Go over in you mind what you've learned in the gym. Go over in your mind what your plan is when that first bell rings. Don't dwell on it, just go over it in you mind, then let it go and relax. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
My plan is to hit the other guy as ****ing hard as i can (without being reckless) with the first couple combos, then box. I feel pretty confident right now (unusual for me to feel like that) and i just want to get it over with. i must confess, playing around on ESB here really helps keep my mind occupied with other things, instead of imagining and daydreaming about the fight. I'll let you guys know how it goes, if i'm feeling squirrely after i might even post it on u tube.
Take his head off :good Reading all these threads about amateurs fights makes me want to start boxing, too bad theres not realy that mutch gyms around here + everyone keeps telling me Im too old :dead Good luck.
21. The most important thing I guess is that theres very few gyms around here, the closest one is about 1.5 h bus ride away and in a pritty bad area. Ppl around here is more interested into bodybuilding and basketball.
Good luck man! I was pretty nervous last week which I can say affected my performance a bit. Hope you get the W!
Thank you for your support everyone. Sadly enough, i'll have to say I lost on a split decision to a kid who's already had 4 fights and in his hometown. This is my first fight amy. Needless to say as I left the ring a lot of onlookers wanted to shake my hand and told me i was robbed. I felt personally that it was a good fight and could have gone either way, but i was surprised that I had won the crowd over instead of the other fellow. I'm bummed, but any time in the ring is a good time and i definately learned a ton and will be better prepared next fight. I had a blast and i'll be hitting the gym in a day or two and getting ready for my next one. I'll post the video tomorrow sometime so you guys can give me some pointers- they'll be really appreciated.
Good for you! To give a more experienced fighter a hard time is always something to be proud of. Can't wait to see the video.
Hey everyone no video for a while, i just figured out that the family camcorder videos can't be put on the computer. Good news is I have a friend that went and taped it and I'll have him email it to me later (he's a lazy bum tho) This content is protected
