We all gathered the latest news. Sad things happened, page for page.
Many were pulled into it, unsuspectingly.

Because of all this, I´m gonna open this thread.
In therms of getting the rattled mental interconnectedness back to normal state, we´re gonna start from zero. The recure will be done via support group-like veritable Rocky Marciano discussions.

    First Talk

"What stops this gentleman here http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/9038, a very slick quick footed and blistering fast handed puncher with a tremendous left hook to go 49 - 0 against this fellows opponents http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/9032 ?
    Or maybe 50 - 1 with winning a remtach?"

    Discuss.

I actually am on Rocky's side here, although can you tell me which Marciano opponent would stop Patterson other than maybe Layne

I don't know which one, or whether he's even getting stopped (I think he probably will).
But there are guys there who can spark him out, and knock him down .... with much better chances of doing so than they had against Marciano.
    imo

Perhaps Walcott? But I think that would be a fun fight either way

I'd actually really like to see that fight. But I'd favour Patterson myself, but it's definitely a 50-50. But that in mind, Walcott > Ingo

If you guys want to be serious with this

A green, un professionally-trained Patterson might drop a KO loss to Eddie Ross, who was a dynamite puncher

Patterson might have a series with Layne in the same way he lost to Ingo

Patterson might drop a decision in the first LaStarza fight while he's green, since he dropped one to Maxim, and LaStarza is just a larger Maxim

I'd favor Walcott and Charles against Patterson straightup

I'd say if he makes it to the Walcott that lost to Marciano, in which Patterson would probably be around 41-1 or 40-2, he'd lose to Walcott via knockout.

Patterson wins the crown in a rematch against a 39 y/o Walcott via early knockout

Patterson goes to war with Charles and drops a decision, then gets revenge in a war with a heavier Charles

An older Patterson batters Cockell, and then defeats Moore with more difficulty than his actual fight, as Moore is younger and more in shape, and Patterson is older. I'd take Patterson by UD or late stoppage here after getting dropped

There ya go. Patterson, against Marciano's comp, goes around 46-3 or 45-4

I suspect that there is a reason why Marciano typically offered a title shot to the best qualified contender, while Patterson picked his battles a bit more carefully.

Floyd Patterson was a decent champion though.
I really wouldn't put him too far behind Marciano.

Yeah I like Floyd. Stand up guy. Very Underrated puncher.

He beats more champions than folks realise.
