This is a pretty good fight. It's shaping to be a great event at 3/5 with: Julians Williams facing Marcello Matano (IBF final eliminator - winner will be Jermall Charlo's mando) Tony Harrison facing Fernando Guerrero Antoine Douglas facing Avtandil Khurtsidze Khurtsidze is a very dangerous fight for Douglas. I'm looking forward to this event.
Nice! I think Action is ready for the step up. That's a pleasant surprise for a replacement opponent.
Much tougher challenge than Lorenzo, but Khurtsidze should manage it. Action will never have experienced such pressure in his life.
Douglas with Khurtsidze on his résumé > Wade, as challengers go. (unless he gets a gift decision, in which case equal)
Resume wise Douglas clearly has a better opponent statistic ratio, regarding Wade vs Soliman fight is not the best way to judge Wade (although Soliman is the only big name), because Soliman is an awkward former Champion. Awkward veterans do their best work against less experienced contenders, Wade was not ready for all the things Soliman did. GGG is a less awkward, straight forward fighter, so we will get to see Wade at his best vs a perfect opponent to judge him.
I think Wade (in or entering his prime) did a lot worse against Soliman than shot Taylor (albeit the knee injury caveat is there) or even shot Felix Sturm the first time.
So what's Lorenzo up to? He probably would have lost but he was professional and did his job and showed up & made weight expecting that opportunity - it was Khurtsidze who messed up.
Haymon may have just ****ed up royally with this pick.:hey Way tougher opponent than crippled Sam Soliman.
Good to see how tough Douglas is being matched. Guys only 23 and has already been matched pretty tough. If he gets through this one, hes ready for top 15 type guys
