Been watching a few fights of his lately, and like what I see. I guess one intriguing thing about him is that while he seems rather angular and a bit on the tall side for the weight, he doesn't fight that way, instead fighting in the "prototypical Mexican" way. He features a very heavy jab, and I like how his flurries have real weight behind them. He's a good puncher and is well-schooled, and not afraid to stand in there and get hit. What are your thoughts? Next up for me, I guess, is his effort against Canto.
Nothing special as far as durability&skills are concerned. But a very hard puncher. Not the kinda fighter you'd wanna carelessly slug with. Oguma, Vazquez, Kim all found out this the hard way. His destruction of past-prime A.Lopez looked like a total mismatch. The size difference was simply ridiculous. Check his losing effort against Cardona - brutal KO. Considering Canto's style and him being at the very end of his title reign his performance against Avelar looks impressive. Had it been Zapata instead of Canto he probably would've found a way to lose by spectacular early KO.
Arguably the hardest pure puncher in the lighter weights. Watch him Vs Rocky Mijares, Tae-Shik Kim, Wilfredo Vasquez...horrific power.
His fight with Vazquez is one of the best fights ever . And round five is arguably the greatest round ever. Surely the best i've seen.
