    The entire bout is on youtube.If anyone hasn't seen a prime Cervantes in action I strongly recommend them to view this bout on youtube.Cervantes is such an underrated champion.

    Agreed. Cervantes was the reigning champion and was dominant.
    He just crossed the road of one of greatest boxing genius.

    Cervantes is such a smooth boxer/puncher.You know Benitez vacated rather then meet Cervantes in a rematch?

    Yeah, very impressive showing. I've heard (and think it's mentioned in the telecast) that Duran was ringside. Anyone have the inside scoop on why Duran - Cervantes never happened? Duran had to have been impressed with how Cervantes handled Dejesus.

    This is oen of Cervantes' best performances no doubt, however Dejesus was a tiny, fairly frail lightweight and you could see he was totally physically overmatched here against the huge Cervantes.It reminds of Monzon vs Napoles a lot.

    he was still very good though and would probably have beaten most of the other 140 contenders at the time.

    Cervantes just owned DeJesus in this fight....he dominated him.
