Antonio Cervantes vs Julio Cesar Chavez Sr

I think Chavez probably deserves the no. 1 spot all time at light welterweight but h2h with Cervantes? JCC has his work cut out. Not sure how exactly how it goes though.

I pick Chavez in a grueling decision win. This is no slight on Cervantes. Chavez is just about the only fighter at 140 I would pick over him prime vs prime.

 

I've always felt Kid Pambele would have beaten Chavez at 140.

He had the right style to do, and although Chavez was greater, Cervantes was a better junior welter imo.

 

Hell of a fight.

 

Cervantes on a good, tough 15 round decision. Neither of these boys are getting stopped.

 

I'd narrowly favour Cervantes. It was his best weight where as Chavez was more suited a little lower and was also younger at those weights. Around 85-87 at 130 and 135 Chavez was awesome.

 

I lean towards a Chavez decision

 

This is tough, can Chavez wade through the punishment he'll get going after a prime kid? 50/50. I wouldn't bet either way
