No matter who you think would win in the topic of this thread, this is one of the most trollishly stupid posts ever in the history of ESB.

Buchanan's movement could trouble the relatively stationary Cervantes a fair bit. Despite the comparisons, DeJesus was a more aggressive fighter who relied on being able to hurt opponents, while Buchanan was more evasive and went for a points win. The latter style has no doubt proven to be more effective against bigger men who outmatch you physically.

Cervantes could still command the fight with his heavier jab, even though he might not necessarily get the better of the jabbing, his blows will be more telling and he had reach and height advantages. In close he was obviously far stronger than Buchanan.

I believe Cervantes would be able to slow down Buchanan in the late rounds, and win either by stoppage or a decision. Buchanan was tough so it probably goes the distance, though Cervantes could do some real damage if allowed to land consistently on his opponent, which he failed to do against Benitez and Locche in the first fight. Buchanan is not quite on that level as a defensive virtuoso though, but he took a very good punch except below the belt. :good

Cervantes was certainly not a fast fighter.

Top-notch timing and technique usually meant it wasn't an issue, but his raw speed was quite slow for a junior Welter. That certain slow, methodicalness was a big reason why he had issues with the great defensive specialists, despite having the size and jab to really trouble them in theory.

I like Cervantes by clear decision with an outside shot of a stoppage. His size would dictate that Buchanan would have to come to him at some point. Buchanan wasn't impossible to hit. Cervantes just too big and strong.

I'd lean towards Cervantes by decision.

Buchanan does something well though that would give him some success though...and that is the ability to get off jabs in very tight spots, even when he is crowded. Cervantes liked to use his strength on the inside and his right hand over and under. Buchanan might have been able to beat him to the punch in alot of instances...but definitely Cervantes carries much more forepower.
