i,ve never saw cervantes fight.all i know is what is on boxrec and that he is in the boxing hall of fame.can anybody tell me how this fight could play out?:think
I am a hell of a hatton fan who feels like he takes a harder then deserved hit in the wake of loses too Mayweather and Pac...on the weight of it though i have to go Cervantas...but you will likely have guys come one here and say Cervantes takes him out in 1 or 2..i dont see that...because i think the best hatton would hang a bit longer...and Cervantes...as good as he was..did not have the freakish speed or south paw stance of Pac..and he also would not be fighting a end of the road hatton..but hatton at his best...i say hatton gets some work done..but takes too many punches for the little bit of time he manages to get inside...Cervantes stops hatton between 6 and 8 rounds...Cervantes has some sore ribs..but is well ahead in the fight at the time of the stoppage. If they weigh in on the same day as they had to in Cervantes' time then Hatton gets knocked out. If they weigh in 36 hrs before the fight and Hatton is allowed to balloon up he might make it to the finish but he would get a good beating and lose a decision.
It would play out with Hatton flat on his back unconsious. Kid Pambele is a top 3-5 all timer at 140. He was a big and tall jnr welter, with excellent range and knew how to use his height. He had an excellent jab, and oh yeah... his right hand was murder. He'd outbox Hatton, beat up Hatton, and then knock Hatton cold. 6-8 rounds does sound about right.
Well if Cervantes had 24 hrs to weigh in today he'd be adding some extra pounds also. Cervantes was easily bigger than any of the current jnr welters. Anyway, the differance in class is too big for a couple of pounds to matter. You saw Pac-Marg. Hatton could weigh in 24 hrs before, and Cervantes could weigh in the day of and it wouldnt make a bit of differance. Hatton gets iced.
Yeah Cervantes was huge.he looked like a full Welter in there.hatton isn't really a guy who takes advantage of modern weightmaking, he's just a fat ******* who balloons up in weight when not in camp. The size gap between Pambele and Dejesus(a small lightweight who maybe could have fought at 130 and certainly could have nowadays)looked similar to Monzon vs Napoles.
yea your right....he gets way to much **** for the pac knock out...he looked like **** before that fight started...face looked like a old lady....and he was aganst a far more explosive puncher then Cervantes...but i just happen to think that Antonio does take this....but i think hatton at his best can bring a tough fight to almost anyone at 140.
